Went for a ride up Franklin basin today came out and went to run my sled up on the trailer and some @##H%$# unlatched my trailer. Now my tail gate has a hole in it! Let me tell you I am mad, We are all snow riders Y do we have to be like this.

rode there yesterday, ours wasn't touched.

that sucks... I put a lock on mine

Good advice Dunatic, I keep a padlock on hitch lock and lock on receiver pin. Never know when someone will do something stupid. Drawback is every now and then padlock will freeze.

a few years back we heard stories about some of the tree huggers goin around doin this up there. it hasn't happened to us yet but ever since then we've started checkin the hitch out before we leave just to be safe.

We have rode there for years and never had a problem. Can never be to save though. I lock mine up. Sucks this happend to yah.

Same thing happened to my daughters truck up in Island Park a couple years ago - big dent in the tailgate. She used to use only a clip, now locks on everything. Bunch of chickenchit puzzies IMO.

Same thing happened to me at Guardsmans a couple years ago, except they also took all of the pins from the ramps... I've heard of it happening to quite a few snowmobilers.

I dont see why other people have to mess with our stuff. its not like we did anything to them and they can mess with our stuff. Hopefully KARMA will catch up with them. What goes around comes around.

Had someone do that to me at my cabin a few years back put the trailer though the back window of my suv. Had some one lift the ball lock on a friends trailer at the dunes once as well trailer fell off going down the highway. I lock mine always

I do not believe a fellow sledder would do such a thing. It has got to be a tree hugger. We had a guys entire trailer stolen at our cabin once. He came out to go home and it was gone. Had to go down and rent one and come back up to load up and go home. We have always had locks on all our stuff now. I have seen many people leave sled covers on their trailer and I will never do that. It will be locked up at all times. I don't think other sledders will take it but some jack A's will come by sometimes and take stuff just to be funny. I had my trailer light kicked in this year by some friggin retards. (Deffinately a tree hugger) Sad world we live in huh.

last year parked over by beaver mountain and came back and my loading ramp had been stolen had to spend $180 on a new one. There's a lot of the subaru outback tree huggers up there too. I alwasy have a lock on my trailer hitch.

A hunting (motion detector) camera would be good to leave in your truck window....thats what I do and it gets some interesting footage up chalk creek where I ride....

That sucks!
We were up there for 3 days last week... No lock on the trailer... I was worried it would get stolen, but we had no problems.
I will definately lock from now on and check before I leave the lot.

I haven't had it happen yet but I always give everything a good looking over. Keep an eye on your transfer cases too read stories of them draining them and putting the plug back in :(

if they're willing to go through that much hassle just to screw with someone then they really need to get a hobby or somethin, oh and a big kick in nuts.

I had a new 2 place drive on drive off trailer in our buisness parking lot in Smithfield, right on main street! It was parked under a street light! I was working in the shop at midnight! The trailer had my brothers wrangler jeep top on it and I had a lock on the tongue! The bastards cut the lock, pulled the trailer forward, lifted the top of onto the ground where it was parked and took off with my new (un-insured) Trailer. I came out only to say WTF MAN!!! I was so freakin livid!:mad::mad:(so I went out and bought a new 4 place enclosed to ease the pain, He He):D

Had that happen to us up at Monte Cristo a few years back. Loaded up the sleds and drive all the way home. When we stood up on the back of the trailer it came right off. I can’t believe that we made it that far with out it falling off. My buddy stood on the front when we loaded them. They need to castrate them!!!!
