Did She Say Yes? Cottonwood Pass 3/23

Wife and I saw a guy carving out a marriage proposal in the snow on top of Cottonwood Pass.

Hopefully she said yes.

Carving with a sled? That would be a good way to start the marriage. The wife could never make him get rid of "the blessed tool that brought us together."

No, carving with his hand in the snow just to the left of the Cottonwood Pass Elevation Sign.

He'll be sledless after he says I do.

Had about 4 inches of fresh stuff with more in windblown areas. Was not "fluffy" and felt setup.

For powder hounds it would have been fairly poor. For newbie like myself riding with the wife, it was a very fun ride. I did find a couple of meadows and hills that were untracked and the snow was soft enough in the afternoon to make it worthwhile to play and practice. In fact one hill gave my wife an opportunity to actually squeeze the throttle to the bar for her first time ever because the snow was deep and soft enough to require it so as not to lose momentum. I was proud of her and glad the sled got to see more than engagement rpm (she rides slow).

Unless the area has a freak blizzard and cold spell, Boona Vista riding is done for the season unless you don't mind staying on the trail.

Don't forget there is a Charity Poker Run at Cottonwood Pass this weekend. I'll be out of town ;-(
