The democrats may have lost the civl war but they just won an election. My worst fear about what happened yesterday is that Trump, who is often labeled and idiot with good reason, actually was conniving enough to plan this out and hoped all of this would happen so they would have no choice other than to throw him out of office. What better way to leave office when you refuse to acknowledge you lost an election in the eye of your supporters, then to be thrown out. All he has to do is say to his supporters is that the other side wanted him out of office so badly that they threw me out. He will become and instant martyr for the cause. Scary to think that is the case but who knows it might be true.

True but that doesn't make it any less plausible. And this would allow Pence to become president and he then could pardon Trump for any wrong doing in all the pending court cases that are being held up due to the fact you can't convict a sitting president
