det light silber turbo

Pretty much every thread on here relating to Silber problems has been poor install (pipe or airbox bolts hitting the frame), not running enough octane for boost levels.

I have never had a problem getting ahold of him, and always answers the questions I have.

The only issue I have had with my silber kit is the dobeck box getting some moisture in the boost sensor, no fault of Justins, I just don't think the box can take the environment, but he has offered to replace it if I want to see if its better.

I'M not trying to bash 'cause for the most part I'm a happy customer, but I've tried to call Justin at minimum 10 times in the last 2 months, left 4 messages and emailed 2 times because I wanted to purchase a few small things(like a new oil cap, etc) and also had a few questions for him and I have gotten no reply or help. Thats kinda BS imho

well good thing this thread went this way :face-icon-small-dis

ive had goodluck with silber personally, and whenever i cant get through to him i call one of ihs dealers.. boston racing or liv4turbo.. are both full of knowledge and are willing to help if you call them...
put yourself in silbers shoes he's got 200+ kits out there, he has to be out testing the latest and greatest stuff for us to have next year.. which should be pretty sweet!
keeping 200 people happy all the time isnt the easiest, when your cranking 200+ horse outta 800cc two stroke.

I have been running a Silber turbo since 09. I have had 2 motors blown. Due to Silber fuel mapping... His custermer service is great, in the beginning. When my sled was sitting on a dyno for the first time, Phil Stanley, one of best tuners on east coast. Tells me that the programming in my attitude box is way off. It took Justin a year.... To get me a better map. After that, nothing... No returned phone calls nothing!!! He doesn't stand behind his product! Couldn't even get the guy to sell me updates for my kit.
I guess it is all my fault cause everybody knows, u get wut u pay for. His kit is the cheapest because it is. That's why there is so many threads with Silber problems, not because of install or tuning. Big lack of r&d on silbers part.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to adjust his box for the correct fuel curve. It does not matter what "map" the box comes with, make a pass read a plug, check your egts, your a/f guage....adjust box till everything is spot on for your combination......these are ultra high stress motors, they make more HP per inch than a pro stock engine, it is amazing that they live at all at 200+hp. It is NO fault of Silbers if you tune it wrong and melt your engine. You can adjust the box till raw fuel is running out of the pipe and it won't run so how could anyone run one lean enough to burn a motor up???? It boggles my mind. Read your plugs, pay attention to your egts and what your motor tells you. Run GOOD RACE gas.
Just like race engines, one guy can run Blown alky all year and never hurt anything, next guy burns up 4 motors.......same combo. Does not matter whose kit it is...anything can break a motor

Sorry about the red, didn't mean to. The reply button is too close to it when phone posting.

I agree that most issues are caused by the install and the rider not knowing enough to properly tune and diagnose. I'll. Be the first to admit that I depend a bunch on Boston Racing to tune and help me.
That's exactly why I bought my kit from him.

Ok.... So wut if, u maxed out your green and yellow. Start ur sled up and ride ur sled and it runs lean as hell all the way unto u hit boost. Plugs were lean a/f was ---. Once on boost runs great, changed couple modes runs great, on boost... If I could turn green and yellow all the way up raise fuel pressure everywhere from 32 to 50psi, then that's my responsibility to tune my fuel curve, regardless of map. Justin sent me two boxes, both same issue. A year later he says he has a flash he wants me to try, I send him my box, put it back on and bang I have a green and yellow mode that actually do something. The sled was fairly easy to dial in after that point. It boogled my mind why I just spent ovr 4g's and the guy say's doesn't know why your sled is doing that. P

What kit are you talking about, The Dragon one?

I cant stress this enough, Turbos are great in the right hands. By that I mean buying from a dealer who can explain the ins and outs, what to look for, help you tune, make sure it is all installed correctly, and be available to help troubleshoot..........I know some of you look for the great deals then get pissed later when Justin cant get to the phone. The reason that middlemen exist is becasue manufactures just cant do Customer Service very well and the ones that do dont get product out the door. Every one of my customers has my Cell phone number and I do answer it....however I dont have 200 people calling:face-icon-small-sho

I will say flat out that our customers have not had any problems not install related other that a couple broken pipe springs, Primary springs and we had one that a solenoid hung after a blown belt got cords in it. Th only other issue I am aware of is a kit that I installed and for whatever reason the zip ty broke and the exhaust melted the O2 sensor cable, which we replaced for free of course.. They all have have a blubbery spot right as the clutch engages but after speaking with Dobeck themselves they believe that is has to do with the dead time on the injectors. We do have a map that gets rid of most of it and we flash customers boxes for free. We are always testing to find what works best up here. The dobeck controller cannot fix that. We are going to try some suggestions they had an play around with fuel pressure. Once we get it dialed in you better believe that our customer will get updated and continue to have some of the best running, most reliable sleds on the snow. SSWIM bought a Vipec and we are confident that will make for one of the best running kits out there. We just need to get our sled back from the dealer so we can get rolling on it.

Lets also put it in perspective.

Let say he has 300 kits on the snow combined and 10% of the folks have questions about the install, problem...whatever. He has to balance getting work out the door with being on the phone. He needs both to pay his bills. The bottom line is you are most likely to get the best support from a dealer.

OK GUYS. back to topic..

thank you for all the helpfull advice..
i have found that i needed to trim more off the frame where the air box bolt is.
so that being said i am going to try that for a trip and see if it gets better..
since my plugs didnt back out like they have before on the first motor i think that it might have been the airbox bolt.
that being said i am also going to bring up to the mountains more weight with me as well..
i am still going to mixx my torco fuel..
if the problem is still there after trimming more off the frame and then trying more weight. thats when i will dump in the 100ll

so time will tell thank you all for your help..

please no more bashing silbers kit is the best bang for your buck..
there are way more happy real happy customers than not happy. its just the not happy ones that complain and bash..

... Yes I have rated ur post neg because u come on here bashing people.

So is it open season on bashers....cause I can lay some heavy negative rep.

Pot, meet the kettle.
