ok so i got my new motor in and broke in then i installed the turbo back on.2012 rmk pro with a new motor and new tps.with a 2012 silber kit, running 6lbs of boost for now..102 octane fuel ride at 3500-6500 ft.

so on the trail up hit det. then again5 min later a/f guage spot on.and that wasnt holding it wide open for more than 3 sec. basically it kept happening all day then i got up top to see if i could tune it. well 12 runs of 0 to full throttle and no problem and thats holding her at wide open for 12-16sec. that was on a flat meadow.so i thought great shes cleared up hell no i pulled up a little creek draw twice and both times almost at the top det.. now i am so pissed also i have a dead spot in the trottle at 4600-5600 rpm not happy.. at all
i hit det at least 35 times that day and not once did i over rev rpm holding between 8200-8300 rpm can someone help me oh ya when i am in the dead spot of the throttle i anm at 14 ish on a/f

i need help or else ther is a silber kit up for sale.

you could be seeing DET becasue of
1. over rev
2.fuel
3. airbox hitting bulkhead or pipe hitting powervalve bolt.
4. piston rattle (unlikely)
5. Faulty or loose DET sensor.
6. Lean condition

Sounds like enough octane to me... it may be possible over rev if that track isnt loaded it would over rev real fast and the guage wont keep up.. so your seeing 8300 on your guage but a split second of the track loosing load could spike to 8500+ and not be able to see it..

a loose det sensor will rattle it self and think its sensing something.

process of elimination on the above, anything anyone else could see that causes DET?

i hope you get it figured out because there a blast when there on.

What are your controller settings? I run 10psi at 6000+ feet and no det. Lets see your box settings to see if you are too lean on cruise.

I bet you are over-reving and just not seeing it. I had the same thing happen. how much weight are you running in the primary?

what kind of fuel is 102 Octane ? Is that pump gas in CA? I remember they sell some different stuff than in the states.

Det light.

It sound simple, but have you change your fuel filter? We had a similar problem with our tdragons. Change the filter, problem solved.

^^^^This is where my money is^^^^

Not bashing but I would think twice about riding all day when you hit the det light 35 times..............
after 1-2 times you know you have a issue that needs to be fixed.

that being said I would look really close at the clutching for sign of belt slippage/overrev....as you hit light when under more load and no load on the meadow riding
Next would be octane of fuel, what 102 are you using?

Please post your box numbers, so we have a idea of where you are at....hope you find it..:face-icon-small-coo

thank you all for the help so far i will check out my box settings tonight and post but. as far as lean condition i dont think so she runs high 13 to mid14 on cruise.
where is the det sensor located?? so i can check it. i will also check air box to see if its hitting anything.. and fuel is 40 oz of torco fuel accelorator to non ethonal 91 premium that i get from my petro can bulk plant so its the real deal.. also i have never see fuel so clear that place is awesome.

det

I hit mine a couple times on sat and pulled off my secondary to find since I tweaked my tunnel I was hitting the air box on the bulkhead so I disregarded it. Yes its already cut out and was fine until the tweak. Maby check that area again and the clutch guard piece that hangs down in front of the injectors was hitting my new air box keepers so I bent that out of the way. I don't think I hit details all day after that

My guess is that with that mix you don't have a true 102 octane fuel.
Put some true race gas or 100LL in and try it.

I bet you will see a big difference between what you are mixing and actual race fuel. We did when mixing the same thing and having problems and finally running actual race fuel mixed in. It is not the same.

another thing u probably no once u det ur plugs loosen and back out if u didnt tighten or check there s a good chance it will keep det i had that problem with mine at first wick the trottle go right into det hang in there once its figured out its worth the little bit of hassel

yep try some AV or race fuel and then lean your mix down once you have eliminated octane as the culprit. saving $ on fuel is just silly when a engine can cost 3k to replace. I can can buy a lot of expensive gas for that kind of $$. Unless you ride alot youll never make up the differece. At this point its a simple way to eliminate one of the possibilties from the list of causes.

Agreed, you do not have 102 octane using torco.....it may bump 91 to 94ish at best, and thats from our own real world testing, just go with 100% ll av gas...I run 11 psi no det ever.

I blew an engine earlier in the year as well. No fault of the turbo kit itself. I was having intermittent DET lite problems running 50/50 or 60/40 race/pump. I since got a new motor in and put the turbo back on. I'm now running 100% 100LL, I just ran it for about 250miles in West Yellowstone a couple weeks ago and NEVER saw the DET lite once, it ran pretty much flawless.

How bout the one that Silber installed himself???? I guess it didn't get tuned and installed correctly. Why does everybody have to post on SW with problems with his kit??? Where is he? Shouldn't Justin be helping these people? Bottom line, he sells these kits and then he gives up on helping his custermers!

Pretty much every thread on here relating to Silber problems has been poor install (pipe or airbox bolts hitting the frame), not running enough octane for boost levels.

I have never had a problem getting ahold of him, and always answers the questions I have.

The only issue I have had with my silber kit is the dobeck box getting some moisture in the boost sensor, no fault of Justins, I just don't think the box can take the environment, but he has offered to replace it if I want to see if its better.
