deleted posts ????

Why are some threads that have nothing wrong with them deleted? Put up a joke about Submarine races and the entire thread was deleted. There was nothing bad in there.

This is a snowmobiling site and that thread contributed nothing. It was just time for it to go.

haha, little guys all tough who attempt negative rep at me, gotta sign it, oh, and post more than a hundred times so you aren't just a gray rep....Then it counts!

example was set by deleting the max thread with the "non contributing to a snowmobile forum" justification...... might as well get used to it happening to all "non contributing" threads.

Careful what you ask for!!!

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how true!!!!!!!!!!!! :beer;

I emailed the Admin a long while back asking what happened and he said sometimes when they move or delete a thread the program that they use will get confused and delete users posts at random whoever posted in that thread.

I wasnt worried about it, just was curious.

Someone told you that? That's not how vBulletin works. You use the program itself to edit/prune/more/remove threads and/or posts.

The threads in question are most likely still in the database - a soft delete. That way, the people in charge have access at any time to the threads with issues and see what all went down. Useful when looking at the history of a repeat offender.

Deleting someone from database is only productive if the Administrators also put that user's name in the list of unapproved usernames, or else the person could come right back and re-register with the same username.

Tachy goes to coventry is my favorite. Better than banning. lol
