There was only a few feet on top, but 2 or 3 more big storms and it will be ready. The road from the saddle to the Chute gets pretty windblown in some spots as usual. I just used this trip to ride the road and break in the new motor on the 900.

We just drove up the road about 7 miles in my truck and parked at Buckland Flat and rode from there.

not to the church

we didn't even go into grand view at all. just rode to the parking lot for the great western trail right before you go into the chute to grand view. The pictures are us playing in the parking lot below the chute. There might be enough base but I was too scared to try it haha

The pics aren't working for me. Hopefully we'll be able to head up there soon. It sound like the Uintahs have better coverage right now though...

At the parking lot of the great western trail was there a log fence there? or was it burried in snow?

I believe that log fence is only if you want to try and head West down towards bountiful...

After seeing the Avy reports, i would be worried about slides up there...

Going to give bountiful about 3 more storms, then i will come break open the trail :face-icon-small-win

I thought the log fence was blocking east bound. Are we talking about the little loop drive around thingy?

I wish you would have been there to "break open the trail" over the summer when I hauled 6 bags of garbage out. I will feel really bad for whoever gets caught leaving there trash behind this year, oooor, Maybe i won't feel so bad.

Alls I know is that I was hunting in that area this year and the fish cops put up a big log fence at the Great Western trail head - right before you get to the single track trail that makes the climb to banner. It's new this year and was pretty massive - to keep atv's out of Grandview. I was just wondering if it was under snow yet because it might be alittle work to get around - probably burried now though.

Give me a call next summer, i would be happy to come help. Do you hike it or take horses? Im not opposed to taking alternate means back in there, but some people probably frown on that... :( Still need to hook up with you this winter since we didnt get to last winter!!! i'm in Farmington now so either place works for me!

alternative means is the only way to get all the trash from the winter out and new supplies in to fix all the winter damage.

I'll be going in on sat to break open the trail. I guess they attempted to go in last sunday and couldnt get over banner. I'll be taking my MOD sled in on its maiden voyage since the big rebuild to see how it runs. Sunday may be a farmington ride but i'm not sure yet.

it would be good to see you there!
