It does look like pure ice under the fluff. They say that they are riding on last years snow about 20 seconds into the video.

well I don't know where "here" is for you, but there's definately some of last year's snow left on the b.c. coastals where this vid was filmed. They are clearly riding on a pow dump on top of rock hard snow
