D8 = Dozer not sled

When do they come out with the D5? :D

Heres our D5H LGP after i got the dodge stuck :(

I love this D5, it pulls like a freakin bull. We usually use it to move our skid drills around the countryside and it will outpull our D6/D8 any day of the week...

not mullen, and there's over 600hp of Caterpillar fury chuggin' under the hood....:D I would love to see the truck that could pull that up that hill without assistance.....that was the second attempt.

good call on the load, it is a dehyd building. 135,000 lbs on the cranes' scales when they loaded it onto my trailer.

Nice pic! Two rigs to load it? 300 demag juicer would do the trick ;) :)
I wonder if a lumped up US ex-army tank rescue rig (Det. ser 60 & 6 wheel drive, DEEP reduction) with a beam & dollie set up behind it could walk up with steering the arse w/ wireless remote. >> no crane needed to tail walk it ;) :) :D

beam and dolly would be too unstable on uneven terrain, with the load being so high off the ground. but being pulled by a military 6x6 would make for some cool pics.....:D

LaPrairie has some big iron, Manitowoc 888 crawlers and some Liebherr mobiles. the branch manager here is a sledhead too.......:beer;

The mine I worked at has a couple of D11s. When pushing on a certain dump they are about 5 miles away from the shop and when they break down or need service they load them into one of the 190-ton trucks and drive them down to the shop. It really saves time and wear/tear. It is a pretty cool sight to see on one of these dozers parked in the back of one of these haul trucks.

I need to see a picture of that. Sounds really cool and heavy.:eek:

Keep the pictures coming guys, love seeing pictures of heavy equipment doing there thing.

I told them it was too wide to fit on my trailer, and they had to slide the tracks in to narrow it up. they insisted I try to load it as is because it was an 8 hr job to move the tracks in. turns out I was correct, when I turned the house around, it fell off. 345B Cat log Loader, sitting in the cab way up there while falling off the side was not a lot of fun......glad I insisted on blocking outside the trailer rails or it could've been ugly.

I would love to run one of those D11T:D Only been fortunate to run an D8T.

Didn't help matters not having a boom and stick to help ya out when loading. That sucks! Its no fun slide off the trailer especial when it muddy. Hope you didn't suck up to much of the seat when that happened:eek:

yeah man, don't know why they wouldn't have taken the counterweight off and leave the lower half of the boom on. at least it would be somewhat balanced...the guys on the ground said the tracks that were still on the bed came up almost 2 feet above the trailer before coming back down. I prolly did have a good enough grip on the seat that the seatbelt wasn't necessary.....:D

I've had a few bad experiences loading equipment. I'm always wigged.....:D

Holy @#$# what the H holds it on there?? Cool stuff!!
hydraulic chock blocks and a barrier that comes down behind the trailer, doesn't always work as designed tho.....here's one that hopped the barrier and went into the pit.....then they call in the cranes....and I haul them to the vet.....:D
