cylinder head bolts is stripped

Was torquing the cylinder head bolts down to the recommended spec, when all of a sudden I had felt like it snapped at the same time my torque wrench makes the clicking noise when it at the desired torque. It felt like it was tight. The other day I noticed antifreeze coming out of the bolt so I removed all the bolts assuming that the bolt would be broken under cylinder head cover but much to my surprise it is not broken. So I ran the bolt through my die, I wanted to run the 8mm x 125 tap through the hole, but of course I can't find the Dam thing. So anyway I tried putting the bolt back in with some thread locker but it is still doing the same thing. It's like the threads are screwed up way down in the hole. So I am not sure what I should do. Try tapping it to a 10mm bolt or 3/8 " bolt which is closer in size to the 8mm when using the right size drill bit. I could probably get away with not having to drill the hole using a 5/16" drill bit before running the tap. Either way I go about doing this, it would be nice to get some advice or someone who has ran into this problem before and knows how to fix it properly. Thanks in advance
