So how difficult is it to cut a 16 in. track down to 15 in.? Its one of the older style with the notched padles with a full 16 in. lug. Or is this a bad idea and just buy a new one. Thanks Fred
Its very doable, just need the proper tools to do it!
Skil saw with the black abrasive wheel and cut along on the inside is the best method I have found to do them. any sort of metal blade is out of control and will heat up and warp and wander around lots.
I cut down a 15 to 14 1/2 for my turbo phazer a couple years ago. I did it by myself by taking a square tube about 5ft long and laying it on the driver cogs and vise-gripping it to the track. I cut with a sawz-all and used the square tube as a gauge and as a straight edge. Wd-40 every once in a while. Hardest part was cutting through the fiberglass rods. I chose this method because I figured it would be the best way I could keep all my fingers since I was doing it all alone.
