Cutting cost of sledding? Besides ripping off your pals.

its kind of funny because i am going to take more trips this year and try to ride much more. i graduated from college last december and didn't get a job till may so i was dead broke last winter and only took 1 trip to CO. this winter will hopefully be 2 trips west and a bunch to the UP or WI.

Same here...made it out west twice last year and trying to make it out once a month to a destination out west or the UP. I graduated in may and just started my "career" so now I actually have some funds....damn I live close as hell to you too...

I'm still planning the usual trips out west, and will be riding every weekend... Just gonna have to use my head alittle more... Maybe eat our less... Get a burger instead of steak... Try to cram as many sleds on the trailer, and as many people in the truck as possible... It will be just fine... Might be broke come spring, but oh well, thats what summer is for...

I've been saving money this summer, so I won't worry about how much I'm spending to ride. Let it snow!!!

Gonna put the brakes on drinking and goin to the bar even more than I have in the past. E-bay for parts as much as I can, maybe ride the 800 more(unless the big guy is more reliable again lol.) Straight pump gas set ups only. Thats about it. lol

I guess I'll have to make more cash. Lucky to hopefully get out a few extra times this yr cause last yr was cut short by a blown motor.

probably ride just as much as any other year. we've got trailheads into the mountains as close as a couple miles away from the house so not to far to drive depending where we go, our favorite one is a whopping 15 mile drive. we just load as many people as possible into my buddies megacab and enclosed and it makes it quite cheap. one thing i screwed up on over the summer was i went and bought a decent tow rig capable of makin decent trips so now im gonna have to drive more often instead of havin to ride with somebody else to get there. so i lost one of my "moochin off freinds possibilities" just by upgrading my rig.

No change really. Am about 300 miles away and always go for 3+ days so it's not to bad on fuel. Bought a deck though, so can probably cram 5 people into my quadcab this year. Probably won't make it out as much as I hoped, been droping way to much coin into my pickup this year, but this year has to be better then last only rode 7 days last year

On a side note, probably going to be looking for some new people to ride with this year, only 2 trips to the mountains ain't gonna cut it this year.

I can't stand being cheap when it comes to riding, just gotta man up and spend the money on fuel when needed. I always buy in bulk when I get my fuel, saves a bit down the road.

well I'm doing a few things to save $

#1 I kept my 07 M8 for another year, although I wanted the 09 bad

#2 I didn't mod my sled, still stock under the hood. I wanted to pipe it or even turbo it.

#3 I'm going to pay more attention to the weather reports, if it's chitty then I'll cancle or ride near home instead of driving 4 hours to ride in the rain/fog

#4 less trips, but longer. 3-4 day rides instead of 2.

I'm going to fix up the boys sled but it'll stay mostly stock, I wanted to mod it bad for him but it's more $$$ also I've decided the 480 phazer will have plenty for him for a few years anyways

There are a few things I am gonna do :D

1.) Stop eating out as much, like maybe once a month unless on sled trip
2.) Stop buying video games and read a book
3.) Get a new job that pays better

:D
