Was up there last friday the 18 of feb. rode in dirt for three miles when I was leaving forest ranger was with A WELDING TRUCK putting up a gate at sno park he said if it was locked to ride from there if it was open continue up to the upper gravel pit and ride.

Not sure we are talking about the same Crystal springs. I went Saturday 2/19 @ 7:00 am. Lot was frozen mud, but rd54 had snow to the Y and snow everywhere from there past lost lake out to meadow pass and back.
The lot was muddy when I returned, but it was full of trucks and motorhomes with lots of sleds and no dirt riding.

And today the snow was deep in the lot and the snow on the way in--looked like it should for febuary!!
You didn't actually ride out of Poser Pass did you? 
You betcha----I was a Poser for a day!!!
