add another foot

Wow!! We rode today in waist deep dry powder, the best snow Fernie has had in a couple of years. The snowpack is not great especially at lower elevations but if you know where to go it was insane. No sun though so not many pics.

Lucky to get a breath in.

hi

alexandria towards fedorik was amazing. snow is setting up nice! trail in and out pounded but 6-8" of fresh powder on the 30th. morrisey has lots of pow but no base. smith basin on koko claims is awesome right now and has not been touched hardly. mears lake great also!!!

Fernie snow, just off Coal Creek Trail

2 posts to get all pics. We had a great day, look for the pic where the Polaris 700 flipped after laying down a 3 foot trench. (second post) Johnny disappeared for a while until he wiggled out from under it. Lucky he wasn't hurt, other than his a head from the New Years hang-over. The hill was actally steeper than it looks as I didn't hold the camera level.

With the threats of Avy danger everywhere lately how is the area around Fernie, are these play areas somewhat safe? Heading there on the weekend for the first time

go and ride rolling hills, wranglers cabin,,pipeline if avy conditions are sketch!! They got that rain layer down around fernie so be careful!!

We rode the Pipline and Coal Creek road a bit after Christmas, in one spot the last rider in our group had to dodge large chunks of snow coming down across the road from a small avy I most likely set off while in the lead. So as mentioned before be careful.

Trail Maps for Fernie??

Riding this weekend out of Fernie. Have noted the names of some of the riding areas but looking for actual maps. The Fernie snowmobile club website doesn't seem that helpful in that regard. Is there another site that you can access maps to riding areas or are they available anywhere in town?
