Crossfire 8 "free riding"

Looking for ideas for a 2011 free ride sled for myself. Is the crossfire 8 a good sled to jump and boondock with? I live in Alaska and mainly ride trees and jumps with long pulls to get there, will the chassis hold up. I curently ride a Doo 440/800 with a 2" and tip the scales at 150 pounds with gear so I don't want a 153". It has to be an 8 because if I could live with a 6 I would get the race chassis. What suspension mods would be needed to withstand the abuse?

Looked at a CF8 Sno Pro at the dealer the other day and I'd like to try one for a weekend. The 141" track would be fun for the tight stuff.

Wait another month and see what 2011 brings for new AC sleds...

I absolutely love my sled for boondocking. It handles a lot better than 153's and I can still go where they go.

got the same thing in a 1000, love it.

I give mine a good solid beating & it has held up well. I have about 1800 miles on mine that are all hard miles. I have no trail miles aside from one place I hit about 3 times a year with a 5 mile ride in.

Where the front of the edge rails meet the footwells you'll trash the 4 rivets that connect the two. The posts are a weak point, if you can put a lower post in, that will save you hassle. Get the bdx bushing, it may keep the post from cracking the bulkhead like happens to many of us that jump.

Other than that the 141 setup works very well for jumping, and also actually climbs very well, MUCH better than I thought it would.
