Crickets 2026 Skidoo Release

I herd of some information today-
-They're are really pushing or hinting towards Multibrand linking on the big screen sleds for MY26
now I don't know if its linking 7S to the Doo App or Doo is linking to Garmin Frequences. Supposedly Doo has 40 employees working on this major upgrade. So time will tell........
- Also another hint towards either a shorter cooler or new tunnel design. All that was being told or they could say is shortening the tunnel will be easier for MY26. Interesting dealer giving hints but wouldn't confirm. Hopefully we narrow down the weight to get closer to the Polaris and Cat weights. I think it is possible

I personally do not see multibrand buddy tracking in the near future, the logistics of it does not seem viable, especially when doo does not have it, and Cats future is questionable. The Garmin tracking does not work in Canada, I do see buddy tracking in doos future but the latest in sled GPS needs alot of work.

It would all be tradeoffs to have supported Hardwear that's speaks together.

I'd like the think doo would trade maybe, shot start for ride command. But who wins that trade?

Shot start won't work on any of Polaris's current engines, they would need to be reworked for direct injection in order for that to happen

Wish they could engineer tie rod boots that last more than a day when it’s deep and cold blower snow. Track paddles that don’t split would be nice. Obviously the worthless maps on the gauge need a lot of help. Reeds that don’t crack at 1k miles would be nice also. Personally I don’t care for any more power it’s just going to tear up the drive train faster and they will be even worse to try and sell after a good snow year with high miles.

A riding buddy of mine stopped by our local dealer this past week and they basically echoed what you mentioned about the 10.25. While he didn't share specific details they told him significant update is coming very soon.

Even aside from multi-brand, has anyone managed to get rider tracking between 2 Ski-doo sleds? We spent a pretty good chunk of time trying to work it out and seeing that the riders in our group were actively logged into the app is about as far as we got.

it will only happen if we as a community SERIOUSLY DEMAND IT as a safety feature

"A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN A YEAR" ;)

if you have cell coverage
If each rider has the app installed
if everyone joins the group
Yes, got it to work.

MY GUESS..

When all the cell phones roll over to DTS (DIRECT TO SATELLITE) via Starlink, then, this technology MIGHT become fully viable for mountain riding.

To be fair, is buddy tracking really a safety feature or an excuse to scatter like butterflies in the trees?
I have a similar system at work that has GPS location for workers working alone. Its a piece of technology IMO that promotes a false sense of security, accidents can happen and happen quickly, but if you are alone, its a victim location system.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love for doo to have stand alone tracking but will Polaris play nice and allow doo to communicate with their systems? The cat Garmin buddy tracking doesnt even work In Canada I am told.

I agree, it’s more of a victim locations system. Ya if you get separated from your group in the trees and are having a hard time getting back to them there’s that. But you should always have the buddy system in place. A lot can go wrong in a few seconds….. it has the potential to cause a lot of bad accidents as well.

Rip ken block.

I don't see a way the current buddy-tracking systems can be made to work together in a cost-effective manner. Cell-based doesn't make sense, and I'm not sure why Doo bothered to roll that out; I can get a signal some places I ride, but it's spotty, and you're more likely to get in trouble in a drainage or hole of some kind than up on top. If they can integrate the satellite connectivity like some new phones, then it should be easy to make them work together. I don't know if it'd even be possible to add that to the existing systems though. Buddy tracking is a great feature, but I agree it's not wise to rely on it as a safety feature. It can be another tool to keep the group together and get to someone when they need help, or it can be a crutch that makes people think "it'll be fine" when they make a bad decision or push into terrain while the rest of the group is elsewhere.

It has definitely been well voiced. I know of one ambassador who’s heard it a million times. It might take people not buying sleds in lieu of V2V tracking in order to get it done. It’s really tough to go without once you’ve ridden with it.
The fact on how many people are asking for this, I think it would be great to, is awesome but also shows that this is not just do something and make it happen. The gauge is cell based as it has to go market wide, not just for mtns. The ability for trails to be opened or closed in real times was the biggest push. And since the largest market needed that it went there first. But the team hears it all, see's it all and its not just as easy as trading with another manufacture or just building it otherwise it would be done. Keep yelling for it from the roof tops. Also not buying sleds won't get it done, and that would work about as well as people think not buying gas for earth day works, they just buy more on another day! You will like the new sleds though I will guarantee that! Remember also the gauge is always being worked on an updated 360 days a years so updates are coming when they improve, not really a spring check thing.
