Some good stuff!

I had my ex tell me today that whatever we do needs to be understood by more than just back country users. ??? I asked. She explained that the more who "get it" the more that will warn users when they hear they are going out in the mountains. Kinda makes sense. I see people at my office are now always warning me if they think I might be headed out. :) makes me feel good.

so, we need to make it a Symbol and a simple slogan. I'll see that we do bumper stickers and helmet/sled stickers. all available at minimal costs to anyone at all.

Catchy slogans like those would be attention getting and could be made into small stickers or patches. Simular to sayings bikers have, only directed at avalanche awareness.
I had a lot of slang ideas that would be catchy, didn't post them in fear of getting banned. These kind of stickers catch everyone's attention, face it, slang and sex (or its insinuation) sells, people will remember an affiliated saying and it's double meaning. Also gets your point across and are cheap to make lots of each. They could be offered as hand outs at avy training classes as a spiff, SnoWest could slip some clean ones in their subscriber's magazine issues, DMV could hand one or 2 out when a license is purchased, Lodges could have them near the till where you pay for food and gas etc.. Give a guy a neat little sticker when he pays for his gas, he will walk right out and stick a neat sticker on his sled or helmet. You think there would be some gov'ment funding out there to fund small stickers like this. Sled clubs always are looking for little fund raisere, propose to them making and donating or selling these things. Many are non profit organizations anyway.... People would put smaller ones on their side windows of trucks as well as on their sleds and gear. Everyone likes a little personalization !!
Every saying like "Grandma is avalanch trained" to stuff like "69 made possible by avalanche training" or have the little boy pee'in on an AVY and put underneath something like "Get avy trained" or "Ride sled with a beacon" etc.... There you go, start reading biker patches and convert them to avalanche awareness and run with the ideas.
Just some suggestions for small cool stickers
I popped those above off with what is available on this site for text. Probably could have some fun with a good paint shop program for sure !
Prolly should run with the easy stuff first while designing a logo for later. Little sayings like this would spread fast and get the point across with more variety, quicker ???? Just my thoughts on the topic

Something like this converted to snow, a snowmobiler, helmet and shovel with the cross maybe minus the flag and mtns in the background in a circular picture with a catchy saying.... Maybe ??

as aflatlander, I would put on my rig and drive around with it, Proudly, to get the word out.
Anyone of Big E pictures with 'Avy Class the life you save could be your own' below it.


And I would definetly buy a shirt by Triple,with that pic on the back to make people ask me what it meant in the off and on season when I walked around a mall or any place.

For some in knowledge these slogans are good, but I prefer a slogan that makes people think and ask,

These slogans were made to make people ask and become aware, as we know people are generally dumb, Make it make them have to ask a question? ie how is avy clas too save my life.,

ditto on the shirt. Not only would people ask, but skiers, boarders, etc would see it and get to thinking.

I like alot of them. What about making a small one that sticks on the dash of your sled or the back of your helmet as well? Nothing like having a reminder partway through the day. Some one had one on their sled reminding them of Animal. A sticker similar to that sticker would be great.

I have a sticker being made for my sled dash that says:

daddy we love you!


that should make me think every time I see it!!

holy crap that could be a powerful picture,

like gimp said turn the combat helmet to a dirtbike style helmet.
Turn the gun into a shovel or probe with the wrist strap dangling under the helmet

make the combat fatigues into Kilm wear, or HMK..but obvious snowmobile gear

and last turn the flag background into a monster slide graphic between two mtn peaks

would really bring a tear to my eye if you had a widow in black shrouds holding a couple kids in the background on the left with heads bowed, and sleddar buddies on the right holding helmets over their hearts.


no catchy sologans needed for this pic, it speaks volumes all by itself...A slogan would detract from it.
