Crap! Senate passed the Omnibus bill

Time to start packing around a pair of bolt cutters.....:p

It is getting so bad that it's darn near time to just flat out ignore the wilderness designation. This is really crazy stuff.

you will notice they did this in a back door kind of way.
They didn't do it during a regular session.
Just goes to show how badly they are trying to repay their masters in the enviro-zealot special interest groups.

It will come to the point where I just ignore the wilderness completely and just go ride.

Give me a call and I will be with you. I think that wilderness is good, to a point. The groups that are pushing this are powerful, no questions about this. Big money.

The ADA card has not been played as far as I know. Limited access in America for those that are disabled is illegal. Wilderness access is for those that have strong and healthy bodies. I am not part of that sector. I do not know of anybody that has those limitations.

We really need to fight this, but how. If we have Wy republican senators supporting this, what do we do in the Mtn states. Wyoming for gods sake.
Mtn men, cowboys and free range to do what is right. Wyoming may be affected by the Colorado liberalism. Hopefully it is not moving north. I love Montana and Wyoming. At a lose, any ideas?

Soap box is now in the closet.....

Ya, as much as I've avoided those areas, it's coming.

Take a look at Colorado. Whats not included on here are the Wilderness study areas. I am not sure about the other states, but the wilderness in Colorado is still growing. I don't think that we need more in Colorado. Problem is, the proponents out number the oponents.

Below are the diffrent wilderness agencies that we have in Colorado.

Bureau of Land Management Wilderness
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Wilderness
U.S. Forest Service Wilderness
National Park Wilderness
There are also Areas less than 20,000 acres that are designated Wilderness.

I don't think that is really the problem.
The problem is you have a small group who's sole job is to get more wilderness, more land shut down. It's what they are paid to do.

We have jobs, we have to fight this stuff in our spare time.

Meanwhile, the media either ignores the problem or puts out bogus BS in favor of the enviro-zealots. This leads the majority of people that are clueless to side with the enviro-zealots. They just don't know any better and we don't have the financial clout to get the word out.

There are a number of small groups, not just one. Collectively they have very powerful lobby efforts. CCWC, Sierra Club, Quit Use Coalition etc. Non-profits that have money dontated to them, for their cause, can afford to make it their agenda with full time staff members, I agree. REI and other large retailers donate to these clubs, it's good for business. Along with the smaller retailers locally that collect for these causes. I see it all over the place. So when I say there are more proponents, its the retailers, customers and everybody that gets a warm and fuzzy feeling with the word wilderness. Wilderness designation is supported in Colorado, just look at the map. Its not going to stop. And the small grass roots groups locally will continue to grow and support the larger organizations.

Has Anyone even read this bill?

Ya this bill could suck for us that recreate during the summer but for us sledders it looks like we should see no effect.

You know what's funny. Start a thread and bag on Obama and watch the liberals on this site come out of the wood work to defend him. Start a thread on land use and loss and they run for the hills.

Where are you at JustaDude, RoughRider, Sleddy, MileHighAssassin? I'm sure I'm leaving out a handful of other Bush hating bleeding hearts but why aren't you guys on here defending your man and his party? I know why. It's because you're willing to sell your sleds and give up sledding all together if that's what your cult leader asks of you.

This is just the beginning folks it's going to get way worse bet your a$$es Pathetic!

You mean the party that is bailing out the banks, auto companies and every other irresponsible company with their hand out and turning around and telling the people who have mortgage problems, you know the ones who voted him into office, that they have to declare bankruptcy? You mean the people who voted in the messiah that is turning around and ***** slapping them? Yeah, were are those people?

300 Million to re-do the lawn at the national mall
335 Million for STD education/medicines
Millions for Acorn? Yes, we need to "thank" them for all their work to get him elected by hauling people who were not eligible to vote so they could register..

You have got to be $hitting me right?

I'd say both parties have their hands full with unsavory payoffs to this group or that. Goes to the argument of selecting the lesser of two evils. I don't care for the recent Repub conservative reincarnation much either but one thing you could count on was they were not going to placate to every lefty extremist group under the sun like the Dems are doing/will do. We're bankrupt and Nancy Pelosi wants to send millions of dollars to other countries to fund abortion. Great investment there...

And then there 5.2 billion to Acorn. Maybe next election they can double the amount of dead people they register to vote. God, we as a country deserve this. I mean if I'm China or Russia I'm thinking now is the time to put the smack down on the US. It'd be like challenging the local junior high cheer leader squad to rumble. How hard can it be to run over a country full of vaginas?
