CPC stage 3 M8 finally DONE.!!! :D

Problems

Okey.

Took her out for the first time today. And well, it didn't run very well.. (didn't expect it either becuase I haven't done any tuning at all) But I need some help.. The EGT is constantly flashing red as soon as I hit the throttle. I'm getting 600 deegress Celsius (Max was 650/1200F) reading al the time.. What is wrong? And the PTO side is about 80-120F warmer then then the mag side cyl..? Running 50/50 premium pump fuel and 110 MON octane fuel and I think I was hitting about 10 psi of boost.. (didn't feelt like that??) Dont know for sure becuse I was looking at my flashing EGT gauge and the flashing Attitude box.. I adjusted the Attitude box to be on the 4 to 5 in al modes. Altitude is about 1000 feet.
Don't want to run it lean..

Can someone help me out?
ALL INFO AND HELP IS WELCOME!!

Thanks!

What is your fuel pressure? It should be 38psi at high idle (2500rpm or so)

What was you boost pressure reading? I found that I had to have the boost controller turned all the way out at my elevation (3500') and I was still getting 6-7psi.

Where are your EGT probes mounted on the y-pipe? Mine are about 2" from the flange (4" from the piston skirt)

The setting I used when I did my initial runs were:
Green 2.5
Yellow 2.5
Red 1
Green/Blue 5.5
Red Blue 7

I was only running above 1200 at WOT to a max of 1275. I think I needed to be higher on the red setting.

your egt gauge can be set to flash red at any temp. you need to set it so that it flashes when you want it to. there are directions on how to set it in the instructions. Are you reading 1200 immediately when you hit the throttle or is it just flashing red

^^^ yeah, mine came set at something like 573 degF out of the box haha. I set them to start flashing red at 1200.

The fuel pressure is 39-40psi at idle.
I think It was around 10 psi in boost.. And My boost controller seems to have no stop at how far out I can turn it.. (Afraid to turn it all the way out so the knob pops off!). And I think maybe I have to tighten the wastgate rod a little. Now I have set it to just beeing closed.. no real force to hold it under boost?

The EGt is mounted 4" from the piston skirt, as the instructions says.

I know I have to change the RED reading on the EGT. But What is to high? Maybe Im just to chicken to test but as my first 2stroke turbo I dont what a burndown the first thing I do..

.. and maybe I should check if the EGt is showing temp in F or C... lol :) Didn't think of that.... It shows about 250-300 at idle.

THANKS for the help guys!!

Is there someone with this setup that has some good Attitude box settings to share? Altitud is about 1000-2000 feet. So I know where to start..

Don't know if it's a fail code but the green light is flashing.. ?

Some more pic's.

holly cow!! nice looking sled how much power?

Exactly, we are to far north to have trees above 1500 feet.

Rydning: Yes, or it's between Björkliden and Riksgränsen. close to Låktajåkka.
Great sleding!!

Then I think I know exacly where you have been..Between Låktajåkka and Kårsevagge..

Are you going there this weekend? It seams to be a lot of snow there this weekend.

Is your sled working good? I have helped my buddy Jim to tune his M8 turbo...I wish he had more injectors..was limmited to run 5-6 psi boost at sea level.

Yes. There is some nice spots in that area :)

I will not be there this weekend but we are going there 29/4 to 2/5.

Yes, it's working really good at 9-10psi,It boogs for about 2-3sek in the bottom end before it start to run clean, maybe to high fuelpressure?? But when I turn the boost above 11psi it starts to run bad, probably just a tuning issue, Im not sure, haven't tried it more then once.

Only issue I have is that the Attitude box sometimes senses boost pressure at idle and gives Very much fuel and the sled dies.. I will send in my box when this season is over. Im running the fuel settings at max (8) and I still think it deliver to little fuel to run more then 10psi, not sure, I will mention this to Attitude when I send in the box.

Othewise I'm very happy with the kit. Runs really strong! A lot more fun then my last 290hp nytro :face-icon-small-coo

Me,Jim and a lot of other dudes will be there that weekend.

Where do you get the boost signal to the box? If you have it in the box it will be pig ritch every time you go of trottle. Try to put it inside of the trottle.
