Couple of ??'s from a newb

Well I ordered a 2013 kit for my 450 KTM so looks like I'm into yet another sport, fortunately my wife has given up on me and just shakes her head LOL. Questions:

1 Whats the easiest way to get one of these into the back of your truck and the best way to tie it down, same as wheels? Same kinda ramp as for wheels?

2 I've seen pics of bikes with and without skid plates do most guys leave them on for winter?

Thx M5

what model ktm are you putting this on??

Here's my thoughts on the skid plate question. If you ride in not so deep snow there really is no need for one. On the other hand in deep (balls deep or deeper), your feet create a lot of drag and I've actually had my feet blown off the pegs. To prevent this I've fabricated a plate that is about 4" wider than the frame tubes, and goes from under the footpegs forward and up in front of the frame tubes up close to the exhaust pipe. I just zipty'd it to the tubing in a few spots on either side. I made mine out of a flat sheet of carbon fiber, but a piece of heavy plastic and a snowmobile belly pan protector will work . It creates a groove in the snow for everything behind it and keeps a lot of snow from building up on your footpegs and around the motor.

This is something i thought about after seeing a video on YouTube where a guy has a plastic skid plate a little wider than three frame like you said. I'm not gonna worry about it till i need to tho cause where i ride, the snow is rarely that deep. But if i have a problem I'll know what to do.
