5G has a broader band width , it does not have the distance.
Your phone has 2G that is for emergency calls.
It's still an RF signal the same old wave but now the waves are manipulated, digital era, endless possibilities.
Along with manipulating the wave sacrafices distance, it can't do both.

New phones automatically hunt for 5G, did you not notice providers giving away free or deals on phones at the release of 5G saying old phones will not work. If it wasn't for 4G people would be flipping out about thier new 5G not working.
Have you noticed if your phone times out when your looking for something?

Aggravates the crap out of me, there's no 5G remote where I go because those towers are 4G.

It's not for the well being of the people or at least not a prioity. It's interfernence that affects military and commercial flights and also cargo.
Now with the introduction of 5G it does affect commercial and cargo planes so much that they installed scramblers in the planes.

One last thing, do you know who initiated the digital era? It was Uncle Sam people other then the Government was cluttering up the RF frequency and this digital was funded and sold as a matter of national security.
Just like earbuds, the government funded that craze and hip hop ran with it.

The information is out there, it is just harder to find but when it comes to money why would they make it easy.
All this hacking going on is the same technology, people have become numb to it, it's all tied together otherwise it would be to easy to fix.
If they don't put the breaks on this 6G and control it we're in serious trouble.
