Cool new goggle technology

Cool new goggle technology Reply to Thread

They're saying 350-450 :face-icon-small-sho depending on the lense, let us know how they work for you (after xmas) :face-icon-small-win

$539 cad I think I dont need the fancy novelty gadget that bad.. Maybe in a couple years when the price gets reasonble. Sweet idea though. I like the night vision idea that would be awesome.

I saw these goggles on display at a heli skiing company in Whistler when I was at the Olympics...very cool and very expensive. If you can get them for 550 cad then get them...the ones that I saw were well over a G !!!!

The website says $399 and $499. Very interesting.. Wonder if they are guaranteed not to fog.. :face-icon-small-ton

i ordered a pair for #$%@ and giggles... will post something whenever i get em. sounds like a sweet idea though like robocop

how much are replacement lenses???

The main purchase is understandable, but it all comes down to how much will it cost me to put in new lenses twice a year! (or are they magic scratch free googles?)

Very cool idea. It will be a fun toy for those who have deep pockets. Can't see myself spending almost a weeks worth of riding money on goggles. Would be really fun to play with for a day and then give back.

Zeal has some pretty cool stuff out...how about this:

A backback with a solar panel built in to charge a battery pack to recharge your gadgets.

There are actaully several companies that make these solar panels that charge up and then charge gadgets. I bought one this summer for a week long rafting trip. Worked awesome to keep the iPod jamming tunes.

I worked on a virtual reality heads up display project years ago. It got scraped because it was to strenous for people to focus on a heads up display that close. I think the fighter pilots mostly have heads up display on a screen in front of them so they can focus through the display to the outside. It will be interesting to see how many people were reading their GPS coordinates when they hit that tree.

geez.... what do you use to wipe your goggles??? a sos pad?:face-icon-small-dis

NO, duh, I use pine needles like everyone else!!!:D

One factor though... I put 60-80 days a year on the sleds though, so my "season" may be a bit skewed.

Either way, if I have to spend $100+ on replacement lenses... no way, but if the lenses are somewhat reasonable this would be a cool technology.

If they come out with nightvision and it didn't cost too much more, I'd buy them. The gps is cool but I'll wait a bit to see how it goes. Please let us know how they work if anyone gets a pair this season!!
