Another day and not much snow. HELP, HELP, HELP I'm needing help doing the snow dance. We have more snow at this time then we did last year. But I would like to see more. The snowman is showing warmer temps coming in this week.
When ever you decide that you need to rent, You can go to my web page (bearclawsalesandservice.com) to rent sled from me . The sled I have in stock and what they rent for daily.
You can still rent the garage if you need to. We at Bearclaw has most of the parts for all sleds and we'll do what ever it takes to get you back on the mountain. What ever brand you ride.

What a day, not much moving in town. Wish everyone would help with the snowdance.
We are getting a few people staying at the motel. They are going into the park to take pictures.
Hope everyone are having a great week. I'll be back Friday night. If you need anything, Howard will be here to help you.

I sure hope we have good snow in Feb. I'm hoping it will start tomorrow.

Good evening for a slow Saturday night. Hope everyone's doing good.
The snowman is calling for 2-5 inches by Sunday night. Then another storm moving in late Sunday, going into Monday.
If you're looking for a great buy on avy equipment, gloves, helmets, etc., stop in. We also have Wy. and Montana sled permits.
Yes we do fill avy bottles and also rent and sell avy packs and beacons.
You now can go to my web page (bearclawsalesandservice.com) and rent the sleds.
11 days until Christmas

We didn't get what we expected, but an inch is better then nothing.
The snowman is still calling for more snow to come. I'll keep everyone updated.

took a screen shot of the snow. Now it's really snowing.

It's 18 degrees this morning and partly cloudy skies.
Yesterday the wind was blowing at 30 mph.
Avalanche conditions for us: The combination of a widespread weak layer, recent snowfall followed by major wind loading, recent avalanche activity, and consistently poor snowpack test results indicates dangerous avalanche conditions. For this reason the avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE. Seek out slopes less than 30 degrees in steepness relatively sheltered from the wind for the best and safest conditions today.
I hope every one stays safe today and for the weekend.

The snowman changed his mind. We will see mid 30's for today and tomorrow. Then snow starts moving in after that. Sunday and Monday show us having flurries. Then Thursday through Saturday the chances range from 50% - 80%.
AVALANCHE CONDITIONS: There are widespread weak layers of sugary, faceted snow buried about 1-2 feet deep (videos from this week in Cooke City, Island Park, Buck Ridge, and Beehive). These weak layers formed on top of the snowpack during the dry weather in the first two weeks of December. Persistent slab avalanches have been breaking on these weak layers this week (avalanche activity log). Faceted weak layers often remain easily triggered for a couple days after a loading event stops and we expect that to be true today. Slopes loaded or stiffened by the intense winds on Wednesday are likely to be the most easily triggered (with such intense winds, this will be many/most slopes).
Avalanche conditions will slowly improve, but we’re not there yet. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE. For today - avoid slopes steeper than 30 degrees.

Bearclaw Bob's is having a blow out on helmets. I've got them marked down to $75.00. Come check us out.

I hope you had a great Christmas, we did.
The snowman gave us about an inch over the last couple of days,
but he is giving us snow at this time. He's saying we could see 5-6 inches today.
Motel has rooms left. If your headed out, don't for get to tell them that you want the snowest discount.

Woke up this morning to blowing snow. The snowman is calling for wind gusts up to 40mph later today. More snow moving in for Sunday and Monday. Could see up to 15inches before it's all over.

AVALANCHE CONDITIONS: While dangerous avalanche conditions persist in the mountains around Island Park, West Yellowstone, Big Sky and Cooke City, we are allowing the Avalanche Watch to expire as less snow has fallen than anticipated. Intensifying snow on Sunday may still lead to an Avalanche Warning before the storm is over.
Enjoy the new snow on slopes under 30 degrees without steep terrain immediately uphill. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE.

Sorry for not getting a report out for a while. The town has been blessed with lots of snow. We picked up 24 inches yesterday. The snowman is calling for snow till Monday afternoon. Then we'll see sunshine for 3-4 days.
Avalanche conditions.
Near Cooke City received 13” of heavy snow from Thursday to yesterday afternoon which prompted an avalanche warning yesterday, and there was a big natural avalanche on Sheep Mtn. which broke 4 feet deep and hundreds of feet wide. During the last round of snow, there were similarly large natural avalanches on Henderson Mountain and Sunset Peak. This type of persistent slab avalanche is similar to what you can trigger today.
New snow and buried weak layers make human-triggered avalanches likely today, and the avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE throughout the forecast area.
