Convince me

I will take a better handling sled over a sled with slightly more HP every time.

The reliablity of the XM is blown way out of proportion on here. Go browse doo talk... You'll even find some blown motors with under 2000 miles:face-icon-small-sho lol

My goal is to keep my '13 Pro for 10,000 miles lol.

Reasons are: It works. It works. It works. And,,, I'll never be a donkey-test rider again lol.

1/4 of the way there.

Especially when the sled with less HP is quicker! I'll never forget the time earlier this season when my buddy with a '14 XM got off my '14 Assault and said his had more power...then we lined em up and I waxed him!

Priceless......

If you're riding in deep snow the sled will do all the convincing you need.

Ive had the identical experience. No throttle response on the etec. I like my sleds SNAPPY!!!! Makes all the difference in the world in the woods or anything technical. I found on the xm tmotion I rode three weeks ago that the slightest hesitation in the "tight thread the needle steep sidehill/uphill " would have you stuck. The motor was too slow to respond. Have to keep it nailed to get anywhere. Whereas my pro when u hit the happy lever something actually happens like NOW! The rental etec xm tmotion also got absolutely destroyed by the rental pro in straight up highmarking contests.

Maybe a more appropriate question would be, "With over 20,000 options of customization and the GOLDEN TICKET, how are you going to build your 2015 snowcheck Polaris?" :)

I found that comparing the XM as well. Throttle was kind of all or nothing...not much on the bottom/mid and then a big hit. Coax's in to using too much throttle on sidehills and such....which adds to the washing out/pointing straight up hill issue. That big hit might be the TRA though....cause all the Doo's kinda feel like that.

The Pro builds/looses RPM much quicker (throttle response) and all throttle positions feel useful. The Pro motor takes so much crap that I almost feel like a dunce saying....when I rode all 3, it was the most enjoyable for my riding style. My riding style is a lot of in/out of the throttle for sidehills and such.

I really like the Polaris Clutching better also. Never have to worry about lossing RPM or too much belt heat. They just work.

Thx guys. I just put a deposit on a 2015 today :)

Excellent choice. Exactly what I would have done. Last year I rode the XM in the spring as a demo for a day. After a couple hours I enjoyed riding it but, I never had that "I love it" feeling about the sled. I actually find the Pro much much easier to roll over and balance.

So, I found a '13 Pro in my area with 5 miles on it in mid Dec. It now has about 950 miles on it, all this season.

I gave it a good look over last night in preperation for this weekends riding. Seems to be holding up extremely well. I keep an eye on the glued a-arm ends, no issues so far. I have cracked paint on one of the upper arm welds, so they have taken a hit or two. I keep an eye on the QDS. I blew the belt at 150 miles. Second one has been on for 800, looks and works great still. DO THE 100 MILE BREAK IN on the QD belt, keep your speeds down. I watch the driveshaft and bearings, I keep the QD pulleys torqued. I keep the track tensioned and the throttle cable adjusted. I pulled the plugs, cleaned them up a bit, gapped them, re-installed. I cleaned the clutches and the belt. When I do the clutches I clean the residue off the electonics box so it stays running cool.

I keep looking for issues.... I can't find any. The sled flat works in every condition so far. The light weight is a HUGE advantage. You will love it!

Thx for the tips :)

Did you ask the same question in the XM forum section to see what their responses would be?

That is a predictable response even from here. They will tell you how the Pro is underpowered and their Rotax engine will stomp it.... It wont.

They will tell you the fit and finish is better, whatever that means. Impossible to really quantify, non issue.

They may even try to brag up the rediculous t-motion and flex track gimmick. Tried it, can't tell any difference. Most likely, looking at the design, it is the main reason the Doo's wash out on sidehills.

Warranty is pretty much a wash, the number of motors that blow up is a wash. The only important difference is how it handles. The Doo has an awful steering post angle for mtn riding and I find the initial roll over resistance to be too high and artificial feeling. The Pro rolls like it is round on the bottom. It gets up on the soft snow better than the Doo, it holds a steep sidehill better than the Doo. My Pro even got better milage than the e-tec last weekend, so did the '14 Cat 800.

The Doo is a great sled but it isn't the Pro.
