Hey Dan---hope you and Caroline had a great Christmas and are looking forward to a safe and prosperious New Year. Red and yellow helmets, S.P.O.R.S, honey mooners, it's all GOOD in GL:D

We're keeping it low for awhile--I have a sick feeling about avys right now.

How about them new Dragons?

Need to get together this year:beer;:beer;

I have a 07 m8 and i just got the wife a 06 crossfire 600. I would like to ride trail and then jump off into some nice pow. I have been on a sled most of my life thats like around 25 yrs. But the wife is fairly new to it. she has been riding for about 6 yrs

Just go to Rabbit Ears Pass, park at Muddy Creek Trailhead right on Hwy 40, and stay in Steamboat Springs, simple trail system to follow (basically a single long trail) lots of powder fairly close to the trail, no near to stray too far usually. Pretty busy area on the weekends, I'm sure someone would be happy to give you some tips or perhaps even show you around. Where ever you go have fun and be safe...

I'd have to vote for Grand Lake. It's a quaint, mountain town that's not overly "touristy", has good restaurants ( I recommend Caroline's Cuisine if you want to take your new wife out to a nice dinner), reasonably priced lodging and it's one of the few places in the state where you may ride in town. Since you are trailering out, you could drive over to the Idleglenn staging area and bypass all the lower rough trails and you'll get up to the best riding much quicker. Idleglenn is less than 30 minutes from town.

GL is the best marked trail system in the state with decent off-trail riding within sight of the trails. There are also some smaller, hills you can play on without having to worry about avy's.

Hi Bob,
We had a great Christmas. How about you?

Ditto on the avy's. Right now sticking to the trees and rollers is the best bet.

I think we ought to plan a Cottonwood Pass outing and avoid the I-70 MCF - MCF = Mongolian Cluster F***

If you're not set on Colorado, head to the snowies. Albany, Centinnial or Laramie. Super nice people, good trail system, rider friendly terrain, lil bit of shopping and places to eat in Laramie plus it would be closer for ya. If you stay at a lodge just kick back, have a few cocktails and enjoy the food and scenery! We always have fun there!
