Young to old, gimp staus improves!
O.K. I'll keep this as short as I can.
Former/retired Marine. Exploded a disc on first "boat ride" flying helicopters. Navy replaced that one. Remember for further reference. That was 1983.
Next big event, took a jet for a ride off the runway, problem, 90 foot drop at the end. ICU for 3 weeks. Face alone, 10 steel plates and 50 screws. Titanium mesh blanket for a left eye socket now. The only thing not with a cast, pins, screws, wire, was my right wrist. Literally. Trach tube for six months, feeding tube for about the same time. A year in a wheelchair.
Most recently, last Wednesday, two lower discs removed, cadavar bone implanted, two steel rodes to hold the mess together. Yep, one of them discs was from the 1983 event.
Anyway, Doc says 3 months before I ride the bike again (Kawi 1400) and 6 months before I get back on the sled. Perfect timing wouldn't you say?
For those who are not walking yet, hang in there. The mind is a very powerful thing. If you do not believe me, give me your address and we will have a talk. At 53 yars old, we all have issues, just some more then others.
If you want it, you can have it. The fight is worth the recovery and in the end, half the fun of proving people wrong. How do I know. I was that close to loosing both my feet, guess what; still got them. The current back operation, piece of cake. See you on the mountain in a few months.
Prayers to all.
Semper Fi,
Chaos
