Colorado Forum Ride - when/where?

When/where is the forum ride? It is probably obvious but I'm not seeing it. All I see are threads with other info pertaining to the ride or a link to Facebook.

All of the information is in those threads and on the Facebook page. Since so many members that attend these rides don't frequent SnoWest or don't read through BCR, I am trying to get everybody that goes or is interested on the Facebook page.

I have the dates, photos from past rides and links to all vendors who have donated this season.

The raffle will be Saturday night and tickets ar $10 each. I will be selling that at the table where we will be eating, so feel free to walk up and purchase some.

sorry too easy.......

I think stuff gets booked up pretty fast...or at least anything close.

If your solo sometimes people have places with extras spots?

SLO is completely booked. There is another resort about a mile down the road to the West. I cannot remember the name. There are also resorts along the road that are before SLO but are really expensive.

You could try:

Dutch Creek Guest Ranch. 970-879-8519. Tthey are north and west of slo a few miles, but you can ride a sled from one to the other via groomed trail.

Glen Eden is a few miles south of slo. They rent cabins also. 970-879-3907. If there is fresh snow you could ride your sled up the road to slo. They have a restaurant and bar on site also.

Hahns Peak Inn 970-871-6221 You can walk from there to slo if you wanted. It is about a mile up the road from slo.

look up or call wildhorse hotel, nobody knows about it, its not the best but its a inexpensive room,i think wildhorse inn

Is that the last place on the right across from the library? That place gives me the creeps.

PJ - the North Routt Snow Club has SLO booked for a benifit dinner and auction Sat. night the 19th. It will be open to the public, but conflicts with your plans for the Forum Ride dinner and raffle. I suggest you reschedule to Sunday night since SLO is not an option for Sat.

I have a 1 bedroom cabin booked @ slo for the ride that I am thinking about giving up. Pm me if you are interested in taking it off my hands.

I have been speaking w/SLO for a few months now and nothing was mentioned about another group having an event the same time. The Forum has booked the place for the whole weekend. I called and the gal at the front desk does not see anything else reserved for that time but can't confirm or deny. I have a call put into my contact there and she will call me back tomorrow.

I think the snow club should move their date. Assault1 got the reservations for SLO taken care of early this summer. It is well known that we do the raffle every Saturday night. You know this as you were there for the last one at SLO. SLO also has each and every room and cabin booked by Forum Ride members. For them to be pushing us aside would be like biting the hand that feeds you. You knew that we had this planned and you didn't speak up at your meeting for the snow club? I'm not going to get in a pissing match over this but I think it's pretty un-cool for this to be done.

The more and more I think about this, the angrier I get. Gail negotiated all of this long ago.

We get one Holiday weekend a season to do this and it has always been President's Day. It has been this way for years. We raise a good sum of money for two different organizations and IMO, I think it is disrespectful, rude and highly unprofessional for you to schedule the meeting at the same time, especially since you know of this ride and attended the first SLO ride back in 2009.

It's much easier for the Club to step aside and let us do the thing that we have planned for nearly 6 or 7 months. Gail, has more pressing things to deal with now and that is why I stepped in to help. I have given up may hours of my time to do this and I am pretty offended that someone who knows the history, the dates and the reason we hold this ride would knowingly and intentionally step on our toes. We would never have stepped on your toes. For your to wait until two weeks before the ride to pipe up is showing a huge amount of disrespect and lacks class. We have been organizing, collecting donations and discussing things for months. MONTHS!! and now, 18 days before we hold this, you chime in?? That is a huge, steaming pile of bullchit! There are people that won't be able to make a Sunday night dinner/raffle because they have to get back home or work.

Liz at SLO was out today and is suppose to call me tomorrow morning. I did speak with her months ago and reserved everything. Then it was discussed to follow up with her when it gets closer to the ride to discuss meals. I am sure we can get this worked out. Will just have to see what her intentions are and if they did double book for that night to see what WTF they were thinking. will keep ya posted...
