Color of Polaris VES Gold Oil

Purchased a used 2011 RMK Pro with 250 miles and need to get some oil for the sled before my next ride.
I looked in the oil tank and the oil is red. My question is is the color of the VES gold or is this some other brand like redline or amsoil...

Just want to know if I need to use a baster and get the oil out and start fresh.

Thanks, Ryan

most likely its redline..but polaris oil should mix with it just fine..if your worried about it buy 2 qts of whatever oil you wish to run, ducttape the tops good and carry them along...when the oil light comes on stop and refill with your new oil...I would just dismount the oil tank off the clutch guard and just pour it out into a container...

It's very easy to take the oil tank out and dump it. I took mine and dumped her and started the sled the right way with BluMarble. You would prob be ok mixing a little, but the two oils are different viscosities and may not combust the same. Be safe and dump it out or vacuum it out to be safe.

Wish I would have done it this way!! I started using a Turkey baster but realized I couldn't get to the lower section of the tank due to the mold design. Ended up having to modify a cheap gear oil hand pump with an extended line to get it all out. Took about an hour and 3 beers....:face-icon-small-win I'm going to run Legend ZX-2SR this year in the new sled right from the beginning!

run it til its pretty low and top it off with what you want. I would probably just run redline as long as your dealer is not retarded and says it voids the warrantee

All the "red" colored oils mentioned here are very high quality and I wouldn't hesitate to mix whatever you plan to. For me I'll stick with Redline (mine is a little dark these days as it's mixed with some Poo Blue).

Have FUN!

Redline is good oil. I have cleaned many VES valves that have been burning Redline and they are always cleaner than most.... but the crap stinks, when you are riding behind a guy burning that stuff! I guess if you use Redline, you better get used to your riding buddies keeping you in the rear so they don't have to smell it! LOL

ALERT, you will need to check your fluid level more frequently now as I believe the 3 beers will burn at a faster rate..
