Collapsing turbo intake boot.

Has anyone ran into this?

Or actually verified it’s a problem?

@TRS this might be part of the high altitude “flat” power you were seeing?

I wonder if "Frozen Boost" might have an elbow that would fit this application. We've use their tubing and elbows with great success in the past.

Seems like it has to be inside
I would rather have a whole new sleeve.

Thanks, for the info.
I believe it’s over fueling at elevation as well.
I wish someone would put a boost gauge on one. I’m still waiting for a ship date.
On the bikeman dyno video it looks like it’s making 3.3 psi at 1000 ft so should really be a 3.3 psi turbo. That should make it 8.4psi at 10,000 compensating for atmospheric pressure loss. I think they say 9 psi above 10,000 so maybe but definitely a different way to measure it.

Yeah coming off a 18 with a mtntk 7# with there intercooler and that definitely has more power. But like every thing else about the boost more.

Ok going to test a replacement silicone elbow.

Super glue the plastic collar into the fuzzy upper intake connector.

Cut the silicone elbow as shown.

Clamp in place.

Solid tough 4 ply boot.

Do you think a 45 trimmed would be a better fit ? Or is a 90 the way to go ?

Put 60 miles on 2 sleds setup like this.

Works great and cures the problem.

$20 total cost and definitely not a band aid.

Any concern with getting warmer, under-
hood air during all conditions?

Our data logging has shown no increase in charge temperatures with our Intake boost vent installed.
