Yeah, I'm probably stupid for trying to promote dialogue when it's so slow around here.

But you know what would REALLY be stupid?

I was wondering the other day if the fact that most NFL owners, who are all old rich white guys who support trump, has anything to do with Kaepernick not having a job in he NFL after he peacefully protesting the killing of black kids by white cops. I always thought in this country you were free to do as you please. Maybe that only holds true if you are white aryan Christians

There we go! When it's not going your way, play the race card!

We all do have the right to protest peacefully.
But when you do it while on your employers time and/or it reflects on your employer, drives away money paying customers, then these employers have the right to protect their investment and livelihoods of other employees by terminating your employment.
In fact management owes it to srock holders to protect the revenue stream of the business.
 
Please keep in mind that this is the same NFL that asked Tim Tiebow to stop kneeling as a show of thankfulness to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It seems that the left wish to pick and choose when it comes to tolerance.


I hope that we can get through today without any unlawful reactions from either side on this one.

Violence or destruction needs to be prevented.
Both sides need to remain above that.

Funny, kaepernick doesn't even have a team and his jersey is still something like #39 best selling. Sure seems like he is driving money away, the team that doesn't even pay him anymore is making money from those sales. Any publicity is good for the NFL. I'm sure way more people are tuning in now just to see what happens. If they fired guys for kneeling the league would be boycotted in seconds.

You are likely correct.
However, that doesn't change the fact that the franchise owners do have the right to discipline players up to & including termination.


If they choose to, that is a different subject.
 
The NFL is so sad now. Kap should buy a home in Chicago, right in the drug infested neighbourhoods for a year, then lets hear him rant about police. How many murders each weekend with black on black shootings yet nobody from BLM or the NFL wussies take a stand about it.

I love my country. I also realize how "Patriotism" has been used to put down all kinds of things you don't like, or more accurately, whatever the current government / people in power (especially those pulling the strings that we know so very little about) doesn't like.

Our flag is cool & has a cool history. My in laws have a flag raising & breakfast every 4th of July & I play taps at it every year. I've also been very conflicted at it every year. I love the principles the country was founded on. Just about every side will take said principles & twist & manipulate them & the symbols of our country for their own use.

The Pledge of Allegiance - The idea for it came from Karl Marx. You aren't pledging allegiance to principles, you're pledging allegiance to a piece of cloth & whatever you can be persuaded currently goes along with that cloth. The pledge as it is was written by a member of the NEA & a socialist.

The National Anthem is also overused and underappreciated. If you're going to sing the 1st verse, you may as well sing the rest. Then you get messages like "conquer we must when our cause it is Just."

And if some overpaid football player wants to take the opportunity to protest, whoopdeedoo. It's in the first amendment. If his overpaid employer wants to fire him, that's his prerogative as well. Or if he wants to sit out too he can. And if the POTUS wants to take a little issue & blow it up to sidetrack us from any issues of actual import, that's his prerogative.
