Considering I've Never bought a single Nike brand anything, and I've never sat through a whole NFL game in person, much less on the television screen, this still doesn't affect me.
If I'm going to wear your brand on my shirt, you'd better be paying me, or you'd better make something that makes it worth my while to sport your brand.
Nike is overpriced. That being said, I respect them for standing by a guy who stuck with his principles. Still not going to waste money on nike though. Someone should be able to say or do what he wants. He may lose his job over it & Nike may lose customers over it. Though it seems like he just got a new job. I bet Nike picks up some new customers because of it. Just not me.

I think I heard the numbers correctly but you may want to check. Currently Nike stock down about 4% today which apparently is the equivalent of about $4 billion of lost shareholder value.

I just don't get the reverse boycott...pay for stuff and then throw it out. Seems like a waste at that point. The company already made the money....and it's not like some random dude wearing a t shirt or Nike kicks mowing his lawn is part of their marketing program LOL
I agree on the you better be paying me for advertising for you... Always get a kick out of people who PAY hundreds of dollars to be a walking billboard and look down on the guy with his solid colered $6 shirt. Good stuff.
But yeah Kapernicks a looser... and Nike likely wont be getting another dollar of mine, which sucks, I like Nike shoes. I will probably wear mine till they are shot... Don’t really feel like buying new shoes.
The fact that every liberals response is that he is not protesting the flag but rather racial injustice is maddening. If he’s gonna protest that’s fine, just do it any other time than during the national anthem, it’s disrespectful no matter how you twist it. And then for Nike to use the phrase they did... I just dont get it. But I dont get alot of things. Its fine though, should just turn off the tv and cell phone, things are pretty good here

We're on the same side, so this is hard to disagree with you.
My gripe actually is not kneeling during the anthem. It's the narrative that they can do so while "on the clock" and there's not a damned thing their employers can do about it. That's irks me.
I hate the kneeling, but they do have that right. But it doesn't help a thing. If anything, it has alienated millions of people and divided them into "racial" resentment.
When they are on the clock, they should do everything they can to make their employers look good, not embarrass them.
Then on their own time and their own dime, do things that will actually bring people together to improve the situation.
The kneeling originated as a protest against law enforcement and the legal system.
I think most people don't even remember that because it's been twisted into a "protest the flag" fiasco.
Not that anyone cares, but that is my take on it.

Nike is just like North Face to me. Threw it all out. NEVER again spend my money for it. NEVER. The best way for conservative capitalists to protest is with their WALLET.
I loved my old Air Jordans and a old pair of Air Max back in high school. Haven't much cared about Nikes since school. They sealed their fate with me, will never buy another pair now. Not that they care anyway...
Went to a Minor league baseball game the other night. Everybody stood. The gal who sang the anthem started about a 5th too high & had to start over, but everybody stood.
I see your point in the "on the clock" thing, and even agree with it to a point. I also think its ridiculous that they censor faith but not politics.
If you ask me, the fact that he is no longer on the clock & folks are still vilifying him says more about them than it does about him. He lost his job. And now he's got a new one where he can protest & get paid. Smart guy if you ask me. Nike? I guess time will tell on that one.
Hopefully this is only the first domino to fall.

I do agree the biggest threat is other black men.
However, when a cooperating middle class, lunch serving black guy trying to do what the cops ask him to do is shot dead in a random pull over for a tail light out or forgetting to signal, you can't tell me there aren't too many cops with itchy trigger fingers.
