Clutching the 2013 Pro

I love my MDS weights, they pull harder than stock no question.

Running 13.6 head and 65.6g MDS, with Steve's spring and Polaris black/purple sec. spring. 58/40/.46 helix

Reasonable temps following a pull, pulls hard, right to 8000 rpms and holds!

FYI- I think 8000 rpms makes more power, more track speed than 8200 rpms. only my opinion, but I know other shops clutch for 8000. I may be mistaken but I believe on dyno that HP is pretty flat from 7900-8300 but torque falls off after 8000 rpms

Yes throw that blk purple out... put in the blk white and dont look back. your weights are gonna vary on snow conditon and type of snow. Sounds like we run same sort of elevation, are you running a head.pipe etc? This set up works real good on the 13 pro..
cheers!

Have you got a part number for the black/white spring, or else the rates of the spring.

Has anyone tested the carls cycle kit vs the MDS kit head to head? I'm running the full carls cycle setup right now and am really happy with the on/off throttle performance over stock. Running right at 8200-8250rpm very consistently. I heard the MDS has better overall track speed.

2013 stock 163 here.
My sled use to pull 8150 climbing steep and deep, but know goes down to 7,700even 7,600.
Everything seems to look good in my clutch, but I'm def no clutching guru.I keep my deflection tight.
It does look like the primary spring is rubbing a bit, maybe slightly binding?
Any ideas why the drop in RPM? 660 miles

What I found to be a great set up for me on my 13 PRO 800 155 at 0-3000ft:
68 mtx fully loaded 3g at heel and 3g tip
Stock primary spring (140/330)
60/42/.36 helix
stock sec spring
Works great 8250 rpm

On my 12 Pro 800 155
MDS weights 70g total weight 4g heel, and 2.5 tip
Team lime green 150/340
stock helix 56/42/.36
stock secondary spring.
I tried running mds recommendations initially, but wouldn't pull peak rpm and super sluggish throughout rpm band. I ended up going to near stock primary spring and rearranged the weight like I have now. It runs way better, pulls 8350rpm on lakes, and 8200rpm on the hill, but won't hold rpm on long pulls. I am going to try a team secondary spring 160/280 black/silver to try n hold rpm better. Also, my engagement rpm is a little to high, around 4400 rpm so I also got a team yellow primary 120/340 coming. I will let you know how it turns out. But to be honest, the mtx are just as good of weights, if not better and cost less than half of MDS. Just my personal experience.
