Personally, I've done direct battery to fuel pump numerous times on sleds and thousands of times on roadrace motorcycles over the last 20 years without any negative results.
I can't speak to others experiences.

Put in the slp blue/pink first and see where that puts you for rpm's. It will definitely give you more rpm's than the stock primary spring. Also for riding that high, you should be able to pull a 60/38 helix. You also might want to get high elevation exhaust valve springs, theyre cheap & easy to change. I wouldn't worry about running a team tied, Ive read enough threads that most people don't see much of a performance gain with them.
