Clutching / Box settings for '07 M1000 / SLP Mods

Trying to help out a bud. Not familiar with the Cat, or the BD box. Cannot seem to get a friends tuned properly.

SLP single and can
SLP intake
BD box

6500 - 7500 elevation

We cannot seem to get it to run hot enough. We have adjusted the box the down and it really doesn't seem to make a difference. ( maybe we are not adjusting it enough, but we are down alot from SLp's recommendations) Also, it will not pull the recommended clutch weights. I attribute this to the lack of Egt's ( will hit between 1050 and 1100f). It seems like we need to run the stock weights, which to me means the SLP tuff isn't doing a darn thing.

We have replaced the box with a new one to take that out of the equation. Can I tune this sled at say 2500', and the EFI will compensate for the elevation/ temp change? Or does the BD box over ride the compensation? Sorry for lack of knowledge on the Cat's EFI, just have never owned one?

So, any help would be great. If you have the same sled, what are you running for set-up. Is there something we should be checking that we are missing?

Take the slp stuff off.... I couldn't get mine to ever run right. I don't believe for a second that they are getting the 25 hp that they claim to get. My .02

My SLP system rocks! Drops a lot of weight and adds a lot of power. Sorry, but I run an Attitude box though. Got tired of fighting with the BD box. Hopefully someone will jump in here for ya.

Maybe switching to the attitude box is the way we need to go. What are you running for set-up? Tune and clutch.

Hold up, I had a 07 that beat everything but a turbo, with slp pipe can y and a m7 intake cone with stock clutching. road from 4-8k ft 68gram weights. flat amazing what the pipe did on that sled. As he owned this sled since new. where are you located? If you are that far under slp numbers you may want to check fuel pressure. How many miles. We need more info. Or pm for a phone number and i'll see what I can do.

was going to ask same question

Have an SLP pipe, y and can. Was going to ask SLP/attitude settings and clutching that has been proven to work well at 8-10k' elevation.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, he has had it since new. It burn't down twice in the first year, all stock. The sled has low miles, under 1000 for sure. We are located in Edmonton. How do you check the fuel pressure on the system?

put a gauge in the line from the tank to the fuel rail.

why did it burn down the first time, did he have egts then. I would look inside the y-pipe for scaring. Adjust PV,
