Sent in my primary clutch off my 2012 PRO R 800 LE to Indy Dan to be balanced and checked over/improved. Did his $695 package which included cleaning, re-surfacing the sheaves, balancing, new bushings, his clutch kit, and shims on the weights. It also comes with the Team Tied secondary which he balances and installs a spring and helix as part of his clutch kit. I also purchased a set of gears (1:76 ratio) he recommended as part of the package. My primary looks brand new and has a few more holes drilled into it as a result of his balancing. My sled has 2700 miles on it.(Yes, I got some miles on it last season.) Looking forward to some snow so I can try it out! I'll post some pics. :)

So the 695 includes a complete tied clutch?

a few questions for you. First of all thats a 121 Pro R or a switchback pro R?

now, seeing as your mileage counter is up, I would expect you knew the sled very well, and when the snow comes you'll be able to give us a pretty good review on the performance changes?

Also what altitude are you now set for?

I contacted IndyDan for his setup as well. I'm trying to decide if I want to go with him or Carl's for clutching help. I know both are very good places to do clutch work. I already have a Tied so I'm waiting to find out if IndyDan would charge less.

lennstang do you have electric start on your sled or did Dan put the ring gear on for weight?

I'm sure Carl's does good work, but for clutch Indy Dan is the most experienced guy out there. Where do you think Carl's learnt about their sheave mod? I was stuck thinking about this a few weeks back, I called both places and based on my discussions I decided on Indy Dan.

Either way you can't go wrong with either place.

I had Carl's and Dan do primaries for me last year.

I was satisfied with both.

The tipping point for me going forward is that Dan does all the work in his shop, Carl's sub contracts theirs out to another machine shop.

Again, both did quality work.

I bought a new primary from Carls last year for my 11, had it cut and balanced, then I always have the original as a spare. Flip the used sled for a new sled, and then have least one new primary always available for mods or spare. FWIW.

Yes, 121 sled. I have 2 sleds to compare the clutching/gearing improvements to...I'll keep you posted once we get snow. I ride sea level to 3300 feet....highest point in New England/NH is Mount Washington which is only 5000 or so feet and you can't sled on it.

What type of spindles are those? Are they just composite covers or new ones all together? BTW, that is a good deal on the clutch package.

What does he charge if you send him new parts? I was going to do the Carls set up, my buddy swears by his sheave mod but I really like the idea of the Team Tied secondary.
