I have the DJ clutch kit on my REV and its been running strong. Yesterday we were riding and for some reason the clutch wouldn't backshift and I'd lose RPM's and speed....and have to turn out sooner than normal. Can anybody tell me what I need to look for in my clutches that would cause this or can eliminate this?
07 REV Summit X, DJ high altitude clutch kit, 144", updated rollers, buttons and bushings. Clutches are clean and I'm running the 377 belt. RPMs hold right at 8100 on the flat at WOT.
If the sled was running strong and now its not, Im not sure why it would be the clutching. If the engine has x power with the current calibration and then all of a sudden power loss, then yeah the clutch calibration will be too heavy for the power loss. So then would there be something in engine management that is causing a power loss? (engine strong for moments then hp backs off)?
Was there a significant increase in snow load compared to previous days, something that cause enough drag that force you to run a higher clicker?
Next question - did you try a higher clicker number (which one were you in?)
Running stock clickers or
quick clickers and if quick clickers which type?
Ideally the tach should read about 8300 rpms at full throttle.
You saying 8100 on flat, then are you in the correct clicker (4) for this particular kit?
What grams are you using?
@dootimes2; The belt I complain about is the p.o.s. 383 belt.
The 377 and 288 are super excellent.
Note about some updated rollers. I dont know which rollers you ended up getting but some rollers weigh 0.9 grams heavier than the stock original 07R summit roller and without changing flyweight and not knowing a roller weight difference there will be around a 200 rpm loss at full throttle in a good hard climb.
thanks
