Clutch temperature... on a gauge

I just wanted to get some opinions on whether there is a place in the market for a gauge that measures your clutch temp. live and down to the degree. Say it also recalled peak value. What do you guys think, am I crazy?

Interesting.

I have used a hand held unit and it was interesting to see what was going on. Not sure how I would alter my riding with a built in gauge.

Good idea. It would be interesting to see how hot it would get during climbs and riding

I don't know an h2o sensor/gauge has half the PRO owners on this forum completely twitterpated! :becky::becky:

You guys should try out a data logger with multiple thermo-couplers and a simple infrared temp gun and see all of the interesting info going on inside of a sled hood during go time!

For the $175 you'd think Polaris has invented a belt with a micro chip encased that reads temps, pressure, pulling force, inertia, RPM!

Really good idea. Would love to be able to watch real time what my clutch temps are doing. I have one of the Laser gauges but would be night if you could mount a guage with sensor by the clutch.

i think it would be good for someone who was really into clutch setup, say someone who sold kits.

for the average rider. more info then you need.

problem is cost. Looking at about $300 for everything you need.

So if you alter your riding when critical temp is reached, thus saving a belt...... do this twice & you've saved enough to pay this expense.

I do the same thing. After a hard pull (especially on warmer days) I scan things under the hood (with the hand held) and it can be interesting to see where the heat is.
