clutch staying engaged

put the sled on the stand so i can rev it to spin the track and the track would not stop turning . so i put the brake on to stop the track and it stalled. tried to start it back up and the track turned every time i pulled the rope. had to pull the cover off and kick the clutch to free it. after i spin the track and warm it up its works normal. did this a few time last year. and again when i got it out to check it over for this winter. any ideas????? its a 2005 900 fusion with 2500 trouble free til now miles

Time to get it rebuilt, sounds like the weights are getting hung up. Check for side toe side freeplay in your weight bushings and the weights themselves.

Indy Dan does a great job, but he may be busy. Get ahold of him here or 651-388-9045. Could prolly try your dealer too.

I have a p85 in my basement that does that... excessive play everywhere and damaged bushings.

If its that bad buy a new clutch from indydan and have him set it up .It will be like a new sled! I gaurentee that its been badly out of tune for a long time and you will be shocked at the difference in a new stock clutch and top quality tuning like Dan performs makes that much difference again! well worth the cash!

Either way I thinkyou probably need a new cluch or lots of work to that one. Proper clutch is the "best bang for the buck" performace bolt on out there. Lots of info on clutching and gearing set ups in the How To links up top of the page.

Not to mention if you continue to run a clutch with that many miles that is wore out you run a great risk of lower end failure. I would do like mentioned above and either have that clutch rebuilt or just purchase a new one.

Good idea... and if ya do it yourself the 900 shares little with the "other" clutches so the "kit" does not work..FYI
