close call yesterday... got caught in the tunnel

Yesterday I was making a hard turn & over rotated, ending up with the sled above me, bars down, wanting to roll over me. I decided to let it roll over me instead of trying to get out from below it, and somehow my leg got caught up in the track.

The sled pointed downhill, and sucked my leg into the tunnel, I then slid down with the sled for about 100' down the hill, but when I stopped the sled was still pointed downhill, my crotch was almost to the tunnel, so I couldn't free myself. At this EXACT same time that I was whooping for help, Bparks had just totaled his sled & needed help as well... luckily another friend who we weren't riding "with" but near, Robert Stinson heard me & hauled a$$ over & got me out of the sled. Thanks a ton bro... that was a really scary moment, GREATLY appreciate the help. Didn't have time to say much because we rushed off to go see if Bill was OK.

Had my tether, sled turned off, so only thing holding me in there was gravity... could have been WAAAAAAAY worse.

If you don't have one... GET ONE, if you have one, ride with it!

Makes me wonder about communicating with riding partners, when there's not line of site?

My beacon hates cell phones, so figured 2way was a no go?

Had the bright idea of rino in a riser bag, but that ain't gonna do any good with your leg stuck in the tunnel.

Maybe need a deferent beacon, that plays nice with other toys.

Been ran over more times than I like to admit this season. Seen my friends get ran over more times than they should. Part of pushing it I guess.

Bottom line is wear your tether. You won't even notice it after a bit. No brainer in my book.

Glad you still got your balls BCIL.

I've got a BCA link radio, and Bill & Colin also had radio... but in the moment I didn't think to call, I knew Robert & his crew were about 100 yards away on the other side of a little island of trees.
