clipin tools for 2,6 serie

Got my track clips here: https://fortnine.ca/en/camoplast-track-clips-aft012010710

And ordered this tool from ebay:http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NACHMAN-HEAV...ash=item5428f1f791:g:fJoAAOSwKtVWwnYu&vxp=mtr

I was looking at buying the tool they have at Royal Distributing but it is only for the narrow track clips. The clips and tool that I ordered have been used by users on here so I know it will work.

I didn't think that style would work on the windows with lugs. But maybe it will. The other tool I saw was a clamp with a bolt to tighten it and it was notched out to clear up to a 3" paddle

That's the same tool that was used by a bunch of other people on here and they said it worked. With this one, you don't have to remove the track.

Silly question but how many clips are you ordering..I have a 155 and 163 I would like to do but don't have sled with me to count what I need to order

Yes- this has been talked about pre season- and that clip tool works ok just needs getting use to it/ as it comes apart to be able to clip with track still in the tunnel.
cheapo tool but a cheapo price also... I have clipped 5 Axys and always use the non guided clip..

Ok so I got the tool and the clips and I just tested it a few times before I took off my shocks to send to Carls. The first time I broke one of the pins that holds the rounded piece onto the bar. I drilled it out and replaced with a bolt but I ended up breaking 3 more bolts on 3 more clips. Also, the clips don't quite seem to be as tight and flush as the factory ones. I think it is because of the tool and because of the track lug that keeps the tool from crimping all the way. Does anyone have any close up pics of how flush the clips sit when installed with the above tool? I just want to make sure Im doing it right. Thanks.

You must be twisting that tool sideways to break the pins?? and if you ride a 163, you will see that Polaris already clips one lug on the track as the count is uneven. You can also see that the clip in that location is crimped different than the rest because of the thickness of the rubber it crimps on to. The is no problem with it looking a little different when clipped on to the lug, in fact that stock clip on the lug will also be the only lug that you don't see a nasty wear mark in the window rubber.

Do it in 2 steps. First half squish the clip to close it up a bit, then re-position to have the clip drop down squarely in the jaws. Squish till the handles touch and your done.

Just clipped my 163. The tool everyone is talking about works pretty well. Had no issues and clipped the entire track (56 clips) in about an hour (with the track still installed). The good thing is, there are no drivers that drive the track using the clips. The sled uses a single driver in the center of the track and introvert drivers as well so there is no pressure on the clips, simply there for the track to ride on. Tool I got was $63 with no shipping and about $100 for 60 clips.

Yeah Im gonna try that approach now I think. I don't think I was holding it sideways though. It would snap the pin off when I tried to touch the two ends together.

It might be good to note the handle ENDS never touch with the model you pictured though. If you try to squeeze so hard through the lug to get them to touch you are gunna break the stud at the connection point unnecessarily.

Mine did touch no problem although I did not need to squeeze that last inch get a good crimp on the clips. Maybe some tools are a little different then others, some clips different or maybe you did a 3" track and mine was a 2.6"? Assuming the base of the lug may be thicker on a 3" model.

We finally had a pivot pin break on one of our rental tools. Put a bolt in and 5 minutes later the fellow was back clipping the track. Just be aware they can break and have some bolts on hand. Still a good tool for the money.

2.6" pn 5415391
Clips 012-0107
Track clip tool 04-149-13A

Interesting, the tools must have some variance. The clips crimped well. This may explain many of the broken "pins".

I also found if you pull the tool away from the skid while crimping it snugs the clips up a little more.

Broke one pin too on the third clip, but simply put a bolt in it and it held fine for the rest, mine was a 2.6. Thanks to teth-air for the tool and clips! I too noticed that when I push underneath the track so it rest against the hifax, Oem clips are not touching by maybe 1/16" but don't think we need to worry about that.
