Clean water, land and legacy ammendment (to be on ballot) - MN Voters!

I should also clarify that I do support hunting and fishing organizations like SCI, DU, Phesants Forever, NWTA, ect but sometimes they don't look at the broader scope of the things they support. Just like the fact that I recognize, as most of us do, that some wilderness areas are a good thing but it gets used as a weapon by environmentalists to try to eradicate sports like snowmobiling, by taking these things to extreme limits.

MN is already in a constant battle to keep trail systems open to motorized users and has to rely on private landowners for access to much of it's trail systems. If this goes through I am willing to bet that many trails on state property will soon be under fire and closing to motorized use for "preservation of outdoor heritage".

They have adds on tv about that quite a bit and they must be trying to trick everybody into thinking its a good deal for the enviroment but I have never seen them say how much it will add to our taxes or how much money we will be giving them? They just talk about dirty water and stuff like that never do they talk about how much money they want? I vote no as well.

i agree if their going to add onto our taxes and give it to some long hair hippy thats running around the woods taking pictures instead of working a 60 hr a week job like the rest of us that also own sleds, 4wheelers, shot guns, etc and pay a A$$ load of taxes every pay check than DONT ban us from riding where ever we want and when we want. dont ban us from riding in ditches with 4wheelers durning certain times of the year. also let us ride in our state parks and forest.

Again, I would like to see how funds are currently allocated. We just got nailed for a transportation tax in the metro area. Again, the majority having to bail out the minority. When a business makes poor decisions and can't survive it must shut down. Until lately anyway :rolleyes: When a government business makes poor decisions and can't survive it taxes all the people not using that business. That makes sense to me. :D
We never really see all the information we would like to in order to make the informed decisions on voting for things such as this. I like seeing numbers. Where are the current funds going and why do they need more.
I spend quite a bit each year on different registrations and trail permits. State wide, this is a lot of $. What are they doing with this?
Times are tough on everyone. I have to make cutbacks to make ends meet. Thus, is how it should be with government divisions as well. I can't justify more $ to them when I don't feel they are spending my $ appropriately now.
Again, I don't claim to have all the facts. BUT, I don't believe in free rides. If this art program is where even a portion of these taxes are going? Then I have to say no.
Cheers everyone :beer;
It's almost time to enjoy one.

I heard a very articulate overview of this today and my conclusion was that they are trying to "sell" this tax as a "help the water" "sportsman's benefit" But in reality they are really trying to get more of your tax dollars for somethings that are in place and have tax dollars.

How bad is the water in your neighborhood?

Do you really want a permanent tax in the MN constitution?

I'm voting no.
