Cle Elum / Roslyn snow report??

so we got our first rides up Tampico and it was pretty good once you got to the top of darlan to the bowls but we are staying at a cabin in the Roslyn ridge community this weekend for a few days and im wondering if theres enough snow to ride?? any help would be greatly appreciated???

Doing my snow dance patiently awaiting my next chance to ride!!

If you have a sled deck then you will have no problem being able to ride in the Gallagher area. You will have to drive a ways up, and cross a few creeks. But once up into the main bowl the riding is great!

So its been a few seasons since I have been to Gallagher. Please bear with... the only way I have got up there is breaking off the road on the way to the parking lot, and heading up into the trees to the left. A lot of switch backs, a creek crossing or two... and a long side hill... then arriving at the first bowl.

Is there a better/easier way to get up there? I want to bring my sons and Dad doesn't want to lead them astray. Any tips or preferred routes would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

This may not be the best directions. But if you take the main road that goes to Lake Ann/Gallagher you pretty much go to the end of the main road. Then there will be the "Jeep Trail" on the left hand side of the road. You will know you are there because not many people go past that point. Then basically just follow that trail, and it will take you right into Gallagher. It is single track and pretty narrows but definitely doable for a less experienced rider!

Lots of open creeks right now though. if you've got newbie's, steer clear. you can road ride up to that point though. There is about 7 miles of road with enough snow on it to ride without too much worry. You can trailer up pretty far, but only with a two place. I wouldn't be trying to bring a big enclosed up there. A three place would probably be too big.

Is there enough snow for a road ride up there? Itching to get out but I don't want to take the girlfriend on technical trails yet. Thanks

holy smokes! creek crossings?? um some are saying this is capable of a newbie to get up there? Did I miss something or is crossing creeks a common occurance?? and thanks all for the info I was hoping to ride right outta Roslyn ridge but is sounding like that's not gonna happen

Its just melted snow :face-icon-small-ton, and yes, common early season or low snow years to have a few creek crossing.

Was up there on Sunday, not bad once you get up there. I trailered a two place up and plenty of room to turn around (a little ways past Boulder Creek and the cabins). The trail up is definitely rocky with plenty of creek crossings but doable for novices.

I lost count of the creek crossings a few week ago. Once there it is not bad. Creek crossing don't mean there are huge boulders and logs. It just means that the water is crossing the road and there is no snow at the crossing. terrible for a trail ride but not bad it you want to ride somewhere up high

ICY as heck yesterday, snow was hard and crusty. We did have a relatively new guy with us, not a complete noob, challenging, but not impossible...

Snowing like crazy even here in Shoreline, so hopefully it gets better.

Was up yesterday also...sheet of ice on road, have to drive to Camp Creek to unload, sleds hitting 190-200 degrees on trail, stopped 3 times before Fortune Creek to cool sleds. scratchers pretty much useless, had friend spin out on ice, on the road and come to a stop after the turn up from going to fish lake. Went in through trees to slide area at bottom of Chain case, rather than the jeep trail. The creek is not crossable any more at this time, due to the one spot that there is a snow bridge being trenched out by someone who got stuck, and trench/tracks are now iced back up. Even if we get 5' of new, I'm afraid this frozen layer is gonna make things interesting for rest of the year. Supposed to get 10-15" today/tonight, we'll see, but definitely the saddest start to WA winter I've seen in a long time

Pray for SNOW!

Bad year for a start--04-05 was terrible--I remeber riding cooper in a thin coat of snow in January on the roads just to get some miles on a new sled before going Revy bound for the shootout.

As we are up there tomorrow- we will see about fixing this so the next guy can just do it agian.

We went up to Gallagher on the 20thand it was snowing like mad up there. The road still has allot of creek crossings so we took the trail on the way back which is much better. The road also had some really icy areas after the creeks and made some of the hills difficult. I had to take a couple of runs with a 163 track. On top had close to a foot of new snow and was still building when we left around 2:30. It was the best ride of the year so far for me so it was worth going.. We can't sit home all winter can we. :face-icon-small-coo
