Christmas Bonus

I've worked for the same company for 28 years, not 1 Christmas bonus in that time. Upper management that have salaries well over $100,000 always make their annual bonuses to the tune of 10 to 20 G but the workin man or woman that makes the company actually function always seem to get forgotten. And we are all very happy to receive our 2 or 2,5% annual raise cause that is all the company can afford. This is given to us on the day that management is flying out to Alaska for their annual fishing trip. Good thing I like what I do for a living.

Bonus= to receive something over & above agreed compensation.

I've gotten bonuses & some years received nothing.

To be disgruntled when you receive nothing is petty, childish, selfish and unwarranted.

Jesus wasn't born just so you could get an extra $100 for snowmobile accessories!

<y bonus is based on projected goals vs accomplished. We have a bonus pool and how much you get is based on how we'll managemnt reached their goals and the company did for growth, turnover etc. Last year I got 2.8% which was above average of 2.5%. Then it's prorated from how long since my last raise. Which wound up being $2500 ($1500 after taxes). This year it's different and I'm really not expecting much of one since we are below our projected growth. I think I'd be lucky to get $200 this year if any at all. If it's over a grand I'm stuffing it away.

Nine years with this company...around three grand , Iam happy with that when you consider they dont have to doo anything at all !!!! Oh yeah the best part , LAID OFF FOR 4 MONTHS, just so I can enjoy the beeling season!!!!!!! Dino

we get a pretty good party (presents for the kids) a card and a frozen turkey- seems all right, the turkey even comes with one of those pop-out themometers:D

We don't get a Christmas bonus. We do however get quarterly bonus.

What sucks is that we are super busy and keep hiring more employees. More employees means that the bonuses keep getting smaller. Where I work, my boss gets a certain amount of bonus money. He decides on who gets what. It's funny all the a$$ kissing that happens around bonus time.LOL

But then again, how can you really complain about something that you didn't actually earn? Your employer doesn't HAVE to give you anything.

we take everyone that has been with us for at least one year and thier wifes to a nice dinner. then they get a pecent of the profits for the year up to 5 percent. largest check we wrote this year was for 25 k smallest was 7500. we dont have to give anything but happy workers work best and they make me the money so why not

I only work part time, but my first year with them I got $100. Second year I was working more and they had me running the store, so they gave me the full time bonus of $250, even though I was still P/T. I am guessing it will be back to $100 this year, but I can hope.

I used to work for a construction company that awarded bonuses based on the boss's little record book. Every week he would anotate by your name with a smile or frown. At the end of the year, (it was an end of year bonus, not Christmas) he would multiply the smiles by 50 bucks, and subtract the frowns times 100 bucks.
It sure was a great way to keep the lazy guys in line.

Now I work for the goverment as a public servant. Ok guys, what's my bonus this year? I worked hard, promise! Bagger :beer;

$391.50! Better than nothing, but I spent it all on clothes for my family. ;)

Our Company buys us all dinner and this year they are also going to give us all a T-Shirt, they used to also give us a 25.00 gift certificate. The office help is the only ones that get a bonus since they produce so much.

atleast you guys arnt treated like canfor employees and get layed off just before christmas...

I worked for an Insurance company that non renewed (fired) an agent that was 2nd higest in sales in the district. He and the District Manager didn't see eye to eye so the DM got rid of him 2 weeks before christmas. Don't know if your speaking from personal experience but that would absolutly suck to have to face your family and relatives after being blindsided like that. Personally any company or manager that allows that to happen that soon before xmas cannot ever be trusted when they say they care about their employees.
