Chris burandt

I've known for a little over a month and it's been killing me to keep quiet! I talked to Chris tonight a few times on the phone and he has been riding his Assault and says he loves it. This is a good move for Polaris and I'm happy for both of them.

Alpine is NOW a Polaris dealer for those wondering.

Boondocker turbo is on it's way for those wondering.

I noticed that at the snow show.

The cat and the rmk have a similar feel to them. At least when your standing up. Should be an easy switch for him. Gonna be weird seeing him not on a cat though.

They seem to stand on their own Two skis.:D

yeah I could see with his riding style him likeing the assault..think he had to stiffen the stock springs for his riding style?(most have to really soften them up)..doesnt matter what he rides..poetry in motion on a sled......

Hey Cat guys...don't worry about it. At least he'll be good with a set of wreches!!! I mean, after 1k miles isn't a poo bottom end supposed to fail??? Long live the AC turbo!!!

Track RPM's.

I'll bet not too many machines have made it a thousand miles with him.

I don't think any company would use his caliber of rider to show longetivity.

Jerome Mcgrath rode a 93' Honda CR250 till 1996, I'm sure his last year wernt no rebuild with a Weisco! Maybe the hour meter was recycled though!

Lest we forget Chris rides sleds for a LIVING, that does change things. With the history to date on Polaris 800's Im curious how they are going to hold up in a rental fleet under boost, as that is all he rides now in the backcountry. Bummed, but still appriciate all he has done for the sport, and wish him the best.

I don't understand the Boondocker thing. They are still going to make kits for all of them, I would assume. They better, cause I just bought a new kit.
Burandt is one of them that is going to do good on what ever he rides. He is like Tucker Hibbert. He could ride a yamaha and win snowcrosses. I am really surprised that cat let him get a way. I guarantee it is just a money thing. Hey, I've never been brand loyal. Cat still has top notch guys like Rasmussen.

This Blows

:(Really sucks to see cat let him go like this. I cant fault a guy for going where the money is and im sure polaris did it to save their mountain segment which I am sure it will accomplish that. Guess you could say that we all got " Schooled" by thinking that Chris and Cat were inseperable. Does make you wonder though who will be the next big thing for cat as far as a hardcore freerider. Rassmusen is an awesome rider but you really dont see him doing the big drops and over the top stuff like Chris. Sounds to me like there is one hell of a job opening for a rider out there willing to push it and be cats next big thing. Goes to show that if you put the biggest name in snowmobiling on your sled its gonna do great things for your company........With the amount of polaris sleds chris will go through in a season they are bound to double their sled sales! Sure hope those Assaults and Dragons will at least stay running long enough to cook his Hot Pockets though:D Hate to see a guy starve!

Don't buy a sled based on who rides a specific brand, buy a sled based on what fits your riding style. When I'm out riding the furthest thing in my mind is what sled Chris Burandt is riding. I'm just out enjoying the moment and pushing myself and others to become a better rider. Hopefully the big 3 brands keep on battling it out bringing us a better product every year.

Not sure what's the big deal? Even though the guy rode Cats, they were so moded that it was far from an actual Cat sled.

The guy rides snowmobiles and he's great at it, but its not the Pope switched religions.

Hey guys I just had a thought here and maybe I'm way off but maybe Polaris has something big under the table as in new sled (Rush RMK) and he liked what he saw. I'm sure back in '02 when Morgan switched to Doo they showed him what they had (Rev) and he knew he could dominate on the Rev. Maybe that's why Burandt switched. We'll have to wait and see.

Maybe he's tired of riding a 6 season chassis.
Don't get me wrong, I love the M-chassis, I've had 3 of them since 05. However, I'm not going to buy another one, and after this season my 08 will be ready to replace. I could have bought a new sled this year, but why spend $11k on something that I'll have to throw even more money at to get it to perform with my current setup.

So, season 10/11 we'll probably see a new chassis. Hope so or I'll be forced to look for the latest and greatest some place else.

CB has always said that the M-chassis was the best thing out there for his riding style. The guy's probably logged 50000 miles on M-sleds, could it be he's just tired of the same old, same old.
