anyone done it and what chip to get--my buddy has 1 on order but i dont know which one it is---any opinions ??????:beer;:beer;
 
i got a 2008 dmax. i took all of the emission crap off, put stainless turbo back mbrp exhaust. im using the ppe hot tune and the bully dog pmt. also afe stage 2 air intake. trucks runs like a top. have over 50,000km on it and not one single problem and all of the stuff has been on since day one. i get 23mpg and thats running 37" toyo m/t.
 
I have chipped 4 trucks now and gutted the particulate filter than re-installed. I use the PPE hot race tune on them and set the HP at a mild 75 HP gain. Mileage increases substancially and no more emission crap. As for warranty my customers can put factory programming back in 75 miles prior to dealer appointment and there is no trace of filter removed..get warranty work done than switch programming again. Works well. Also if you are in the mood to put exhaust on the classic kits will fit new style but is a tell tale of filter removal.
 
Ive had good luck with the banks six gun, also banks speed brake, waiting for the warranty to be up before i remove dpf. tried the cold air intake but had major problems going between MN and WA. air was way to cold and fuel consumption to high. computer couldn't handle it. can't wait to get better fuel economy.

What is the cost for all of this and MPG gain?
 
wy superchips was 400.00 and was a 2 mpg gain on the low setting--about 17000 miles is what it takes to offset price BUT the HP gain alone is worth it--i pull a trailer 95% of the time and the truck ran cooler also---
 
I'm running the PPE hot xcellerator set on #2 with a AFE 4" straight pipe.

I got 15mpg on the last tank wich was about 30% city driving and the rest highway. I was pretty hard on the throttle and turning 37's.

The power is really good, very little smoke and I think I could hit 20 pretty easily if I granny drove it on the highway.
 
What is the cost for all of this and MPG gain?

The tuner is right at a grand and depending if you clear your filter out yourself or hire it done would change costs. MPG I have seen personally is a truck go from 12 to 19. I have some boasting 20 on occassion but its there word. I for one will believe it to be true. As for the guy that says he jumped to 24 MPG???I would check him to see if he rolls his own;)
 
I also suggest PPE. Back when I had my Dmax, I tried a few different tuners and I had the best results with PPE.
