CHECK YOUR WARRANTY INFORMATION

Just got off the phone with Polaris because they F'd up my snow check 4-year warranty registration. Dealer provided me a screenshot of them selecting "4 Year Extended Warranty" when registering my Pro with Polaris, but Polaris's system only shows the sled having a 1 year warranty...

Note to everyone...check your warranty information with the link below and if it isn't correct contact your dealer!!

Should I have to babysit a dealer/company after giving them $12k cash for a product of theirs??? WTF has happened to customer service these days???

Rant over:face-icon-small-coo

Warranty

Is it possible that the 4 yr warranty, since it comes from "polaristar" would be considered aftermarket company and might not be on the polaris vin search? Just wondering... Going to have to go home and pull my vin and check mine myself. Wouldnt be suprised if that was F'd up... My 1000.00$ satisfaction guarantee card hasnt showed up and its been 12 wks. Dealer has no explanation and polaris says the cards should be out 8-10 wks from delivery date of snowmobile. Sucks that we have to chase people around to get what we paid for in the first place...

^^^To my knowledge, NO.^^^

There is a part of the VIN checker that says Extended Warranty and has either a N for No or a Y for Yes...to me that should say Y when you snow checked the machine...

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think that I am:face-icon-small-win

If it has the "N" you can still have it but it is a 3rd party deal.

Having a hell of a time to get it in my name being I got the sled used!! Just sad how hard they make it.

To change ownership of a sled the sled needs to go to a dealer with proof of new ownership and it can be changed on the Polaris Vin page as for ECS contracts there is a form to be filled out by the old and new owner or dealer and new owner and sent in with $25.00 fee

Need to check on mine too. I know when I checked my vin on my dragon, it also said No... When I did buy the extended warranty. I think it's a third party deal myself???

Just checked mine. It also has the N for extended warranty. Im betting that its for some kind of "polaris" extended warranty

Well when I called Polaris the gal on the phone stated:

"Your warranty began on 11/22/11 and will end on 11/22/12".

So if what you guys are saying is correct, that they just reflect "Polaris's" portion of the warranty and not the "extended warranty", which is done by another company, then how in the HELL does a dealer verify you have this "extended warranty" 2 years from now when the dang engine blows up?? Just a question is all:)

Because I haven't gotten any sort of paperwork from any warranty company on my new Pro...

warranty card

I just checked and I picked up my sled the 19th of sept. I do remember now and checked... I did get some POLARISTAR warranty cards in the mail. it was at least a month ago by now. If you havent seen those i would definitely be suspicious.

Ghost Snow Checks

So my dealer ghost checked a bunch of sleds so that they could still have inventory to sell with warranty later in the year. I used the link to check my sleds and they have the warranty information under the fake GHOST name? I have two new 2012's and they are warrantied under a fake name...what the heck?:face-icon-small-fro

Just checked on my dragon and it isnt showing my extended warranty, and say N next to extended warranty. I'm glad I had my dealer write down that I had a second year warranty and sign below on my bill.

Pretty sure its been determined that the Pure polaris vin checker only shows the first year of the polaris warranty and not any of the extended warrantys through Polaristar or Assurant. THere was another thread a month or two ago that discussed warrantys pretty good.

Once again I have a snowchecked sled with the 4 year warranty and it only shows 1 year on the warranty. However the papers I received from Polaristar say I have the Polaris Snowmobile Total Protection plan that expires in 4 years. If you had a problem after the first year all you would have to do if they even questioned it would be show them the card that comes with the Polaristar warranty papers that has your name and policy number which would have all the information in it.

as dealers we have a Polaris dealer website that we can search the VIN on and do a unit inquiry. It will tell us when the factory warranty starts and ends and if there is a extended warranty on it and when it is good to. I can check someones VIN if they want.

Well all this would be fine and dandy if I would receive my Polaristar warranty card...

But I haven't and that scares me a little!!!

Where do I get the form to fill out?

Went through this with a customer last year. Have your dealer start an "Ask Polaris" case and make sure to stay on them to update you with what is going on. I assure you, if your dealer has the screenshot of them selecting the warranty, it is an issue with processing at Polaris and will get taken care of. It just won't happen overnight. Make sure to get the customer service number with Polaris and if the dealer will tell you, the case number as a reference. It sounds to me like your dealer did everything right, and now Polaris and GE need to fix it. At some point, you will have to sign the extended contract info, but once it is corrected, any dealer that runs your vin will be able to see the warranty extension.

When I purchase my PRO RMK, is it possible to add my 4 year extended warranty within the first year of purchase(factory warrenty)? I would rather do it outside the dealership. Also what are you guys paying for the warranty?

I went through the exact same thing. When my PolarisStar card showed up 2 months after my purchase the additional 3 year warranty was documented.

Same here. Had the very same concerns. Picked up my sled mid september and just received my Polaristar warranty card 2 weeks ago. As mentioned, warranty extended through 2015.

Polaris website ONLY states factory warranty information, not 3rd party. It's a bit confusing and misleading to customers if you ask me.
