Check out these "extreme" riders.

$400 to have new hifax installed? Where are these guys? I want to open a service shop there.

hahaha ya no kidding. they may be having fun, but no part of the sled is, and will only handle a couple beatings like that. with no snow there is no cooling, and the dirt and rocks are going to chew the track, slidders apart. these guys make an expensive hobby even more expensive.

Looks like a bunch of guys having a good time. No need to make fun of them for that. Its their money, so they can do whatever they want with their sleds.

Just my opinion.

God bless mountains

i don't know if i could sled if all we had were trails and flatland. i might as well jetski all year.

Not really seeing whats funny here? Yes they are flatlanders racing in a stubble field with minimal snow. That happens a LOT around here. Thats what all the guys that have never been to the mountains think snowmobiling is all about, and thats fine as long as they are having fun.

You think THATS bad for the hifaxs... check this one out!;) Yeah, Yeah... I know, the ZRT should smoke the bike... its just a play sled. Its pretty easy for some "living-room trash-talk" to find its way out into the fields a "few" beers later (haha:D:beer;)! It only hurts if you do it often... which those sleds look decent enough and ran decent enough thats probably not the case. Tell ya' all what... if it doesnt snow SOON:(... im gonna say to hell with it and find some dirt bikes to race with the new 900! PLAY ON!!!

You forget early season or late season riding? Tree stumps, riding gravel for miles...
They have short lug tracks and it is cold out... Sleds last a long time there man.

Midwest has some good riding.. 3 inches of snow, all blown off the fields into the 6 ft ditches. Like riding a half pipe for miles on end. Not to mention fence rows with drift lines... 3" of snow = 3 ft deep powder along the fences and in the ditches..

Man, those were some good times.. I miss it sometimes too...

Spoken like a true flatlander!!you must be from here??:beer;:D

they are having fun...let them...It is not like all the things we do in the hills are for our health and our sleds health!!

haha true that MT i am sure using those smaller trees for "traction" wasn't a real good idea either but did i do it? Hellz yes

if i was going to buy a used sled........i would rather have 1000 hard miles in the mountains, than one day of that stuff on the sled. there is no way those sleds did not overheat. no way. i have been up in 5000-6000 feet range, on my at that time new m8 and just cause the trail (atleast 5 feet) was hard packed, and a bit icey i was overheating. had to stop and pack the tunnel with ice. that happend more than once, and i have seen it happen to a number of sleds i rode with.

in those conditions i couldn't even imagine how bad those sleds were damaged.

Looks like fun to me. You would not believe how long a flat land short track can last. thousands of miles and it is not uncommon to run on gravel. They do leave some bogey wheels on and the hi-fax lasts longer than you think.
