Challenger Lite Track Mods?

So on Doo talk another guy did a mod and what he did was he took a grinder(hot knife would work also) and jsut trimed the lugs on the back side. Im gonna do this and your mod also H2OSKE. But im not gonna trim the backs very much, just a little taper on them to the base. Ill do it this weekend as im workin until then. and i will take pics of the track and the amount of beer it took to finish it.

i did this mod exactly how you are describing air doo, i used a stanly construction knife with a straight blade and starting at the top of the lug flush with the paddle i cut down and tapered out to the very bottom of the support lugs. the support lugs look like long triangles now instead of big square lugs. the tops of the paddles have a slight bend in them now after riding and are soft at the top of the paddle and get stiffer towards the base of paddle. i have ridden three times since doing this and noticed huge difference in soft deep snow. way less trenching. the track does not hook up quite as hard on hardpack as it used to but i didnt really buy this sled for hardpack. anyone with this track that is not happy and wanting to replace you should try this out first it might save you some scrilla! sorry id take pics but sled is not with me here.

Before I break out the knife, anyone think that a partial mod would help? I was thinking about trimming the supports on center of track only. Would it work better if I cut the outside lugs only?

Maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see any pics whatsoever. I'm really interested because I bought one of these tracks used to put on my 03 151 summit for more floatation. Could someone please post or PM pics? Thanks!
Tom

the track just can not do it compared to powder max. I took and cut the back rib down quite a bit to get it to flex and it defiantly helps. Track held together after cutting. Cut it up and if it fails who cares. Get something that works better. Track was designed for hill climb circuit= over stumps, rocks and crap holes
