Chain

Before you get too many miles on your new machines, please check the chain tension. I know of three new machines where the chain was loose enough to skip, and one with zero miles the chain could be taken off without loosening. Do not rely on the dealer to do this. Tighten the chain while moving the brake rotor back and forth until the slack is gone. If you use the finger tight then back off method, you will have a loose chain.

The last thing you want to do is grab onto the brake rotor with your fingers (even the slightest amount of oil contaminates them). Grab the SECONDARY and turn counterclockwise to take up the chain slack and then lock the brake. THEN check the tension, you SHOULD have some slack. Manual states 1/4 turn back out from finger tight which is perfect for a new sled before chain stretch.

Have FUN!
