Cat's new 800?

He's a big fatty!

thats because there is still a lot of 08 m1000's still on the floor that dealers cant get rid of. right now AC needs the 1000 the high hp helps even out there emissions to hit the standard. Plus 80% of the poeple I ride with have one.

4 motor rebuilds is operator error if you ask me unless you are putting over 5000k on before rebuild.

dollar for dollar there wont be a m8 out there that will beat a piped m1000.

Must have weighed close to 3,500lbs sitting in that Ranger with all that gear, just plain overworking his equipment, should have putt a downward curve in that XP he has now.:face-icon-small-hap

On a lighter note, is the new powerplant Suzuki supplied or inhouse?

1. The dealer must ensure the first tank of fuel is
premixed at a 100:1 fuel to oil ratio.
2. Check the coolant level and fill if necessary (see
Operator Manual or Service Manual for instructions).
3. Elevate the rear of the snowmobile on a secure,
shielded jack stand.:)

I was close:D

I just ran the piss out of mine since day one and haven't had a problem. I never hold the throttle in one position on the trail with any sleds I have owned. Just not a good idea.

this break-in procedure is a good one for making sure nothing bad happens to the motor - controlled enivornment and no itchy sledders being impatient with engine warm-ups. that being said, it will surely insure that the rings are NOT seated as well as the could be as the rings always seat better with a full load on the motor - as in WOT. this new suggested procedure will produce similar results and is only being suggested as it will save Cat on warranty claims but i guarentee you that motors broke-in this way will will make less power than the motors broke-in the old fashion way (how much i can't say, but ever wonder why your dipstick buddy that beats the chit out of stuff ends up with faster new sled? - hmmmm). so the RIGHT way - WHICH is, make sure the motor idles up to temp (coolers nice and warm/hot) and then ride a varied throttle position for few hundred yards (on snow) and then HAMMER on it for about 5 seconds. repeat 4 or 5 times while keeping an eye water temps. after that your motor should be good to go. Don't ride at one throttle position ever, especially when brand new - recipe' for siezing. JMHO of course :D

Electronic reverse Mrquick68

You post that you have electronic reverse on your 08 M1000, how did you go about that?

So I brought it to the dealer and of course there telling me cold sieze or snow injestion. Dealer says this is the answer from Cat. ABSOLUTLY not the case. I am totaly anal about warm ups and had been riding half the day already when she stuck. Snow injestion is a crock. It has pre-filters on it from the factory. Why does Cat not stand behind there product. This is very frustrating!!! Those that were warrentied, how did you get it done. Do I have to call Cat and piss and moan like beotch? Is that the only way you can get anything done anymore? They wont even cover the broken hood tabs that they acknowlage there is a problem with. Tell me there is a problem that they are very well aware of, and then procide to tell me they are NOT going to pay for it???
